Enola and Lilli had split up to look for Teweksbury in the market. Lilli was looking around until she spotted him at a flower stand.
"I want four yellow flowers, two blue and a red one." Lilli says, causing Teweksbury to look at her. When he sees it's her he looks shocked. "I don't care about the breed. Any flower will do."
"What are you doing here?" Teweksbury asks.
"Why, if you're passionate about flowers would you come to London?" Lilli asks, in a fake judgy tone.
"Because I can be lost here." Teweksbury answers.
"And yet I found you." Lilli responds.
"And why have you done so?" Teweksbury asks, realisation then hits him. "You're here for the money. They've offered a reward."
"Have they? I didn't know. Well I must tie you up and claim it!" Lilli says jokingly, grabbing Tewkesbury's jacket. The boy jumps as Lilli steps back laughing. "Stars and garters, are you really so ridiculous? Is it hard to believe I've come here because I've grown to like you more in you absence? And also because as it turns out you're life is still in danger."
"What's made you like me more?" Teweksbury asks grabbing a flower.
"Really? That is you're question. Not 'Who's trying to kill me'?" Lilli asks, causing Teweksbury smirks as he hands her the flower. Lilli smiles at her before turning serious. "Come on, we;ve got to go find Enola, she's somewhere here also looking for you."
"So what lead you here?" Teweksbury asks, as they walk through the crowd.
"Me and Enola went to the tree house. We found your flower pressings. They were quite beautiful." Lilli says. "I don't give a fig about flowers of course."
"Maybe that's because since we were friends you've grown to be ignorant." Teweksbury says.
"Ignorant? How dare you." Lilli says.
"Ignorant and willfully so." Tewkesbury says.
"You could change you mind about a boy." Lilli says.
"I'm not a boy." Teweksbury tells her. "I'm a man."
"You're a man when I tell you you're a man." Lilli tells him.
"You do look better in breeches, I'll give you that." Teweksbury says, causing Lilli to hit his arm. "I've missed you, Lilli Wilson."
"I wanted to miss you, but I kept getting dragged back towards you." Lilli says. "Now come on. We're in serious danger if you didn't know."Lilli and Teweksbury found Enola and they headed back to the apartment Lilli and Enola were staying at.
"Is this how you're living?" Teweksbury asks, looking around.
"Did you just rent a room at the Ritz?" Enola asks, opening the window.
"I afforded myself a shade more comfort then this." Teweksbury says.
"Well, the women we board this off, assured us this was a fine room." Lilli says.
"The women you boarded of lied." Teweksbury tells them, before spotting the newspapers on the bed. "You keep old newspapers?"
"Be careful with that." Enola says, as he picks one of the newspapers up. "I haven't finished reading it yet."
"Oh, I'm in this one." Teweksbury says, sitting down on the bed, Lilli sits down next to him while Enola stands the other side of him.
"So you are." Lilli says.
"Why do you keep all these old newspapers?" Teweksbury asks.
"My mother. We're waiting for her to leave us a message." Enola says. "She hasn't yet."
"Message? What-" Tewkesbury asks.
"She likes ciphers." Enola says. "Coded messages that need to be deciphered."
"Why would she leave you a message?" Teweksbury asks.
"Because she left us. And I thought she meant for us to find her, but I'm not sure she did now." Enola admits.
"So we left her a message and we're hopeful for a reply." Lilli adds. "We keep the newspapers to check."
Lilli and Teweksbury get caught staring at each other.
"I'm going to go check to see if anyone is around." Enola says, wanting to get out of the uncomfortable situation.
"I'm sorry about what happened with your mother." Teweksbury tells her.
"I'm sorry?" Lilli asks, slightly confused.
"When I was nine I over heard my parents talking about how your mother ran off with someone. I'm sorry." Teweksbury tells her.
"Why would you just say that?" Lilli asks, standing up and looking down at him. "Are you trying to bring back the memories?"
"No, I'm sorry. I just wanted to say sorry, as I'm sure not many people have." Tewkesbury says.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped. It's just the first time someone has really brought it up since it happened." Lilli tells him, sitting back down.
"People don't seem to want us, do they?" Teweksbury asks.
"No." Lilli agrees.
"Still, at least we've got each other." Teweksbury says, causing Lilli to smile lightly.
"Come on, I'll make us some tea." Lilli says, before they pair get up and leave the room.
"So you genuinely believe my life is in danger?" Teweksbury asks, as they walk up the steps. "From whom?"
"You're past and you're future." Lilli says, filling up the pot.
"Whatever does that mean?" Tewksbury asks.
"You're family. You didn't send a detective to find you. They could have and they didn't. Instead, they sent a murderer." Lilli explains.
"Why would anyone want me dead?" Teweksbury asks.
"Countless reasons." Lilli says. "Your personality, your hair, your ridculious smile, or possibly your land, your estate, your title, your seat. Same reason they wanted you're father dead. Greed does funny things to people, Tewkesbury."
"So, now you're saying they killed my father?" Tewksbury asks, as Lilli puts the pot in the oven.
"I don't think. I know." Lilli says.
"No, no. None of this makes the slightest sense." Tewkesbury says. "My fathers death was caused by a botched burglary. And... And it would have been easier to kill me before I ran away."
"I entirely agree, I think they tried to. I found the branch that almost killed you. It had been cut." Lilli explains.
"Cut?" Tewkesbury asks.
Lilli catches Lestrade in the corner of her eye so grabs the pot and hits him with it, before dropping it and grabbing Tewkesbury's hand.
"Come on!" Lilli tells Tewkesbury, before the two run out the room.
"Come back here!" Lestrade shouts, as the pair meet Enola while running up the stairs.
"Who's he?" Tewkesbury asks.
The trio run into the room closing the door.
"Move the chest. Move the chest!" Enola orders as they hold the door shut.
Tewkesbury pushes the chest in front of the door as Lestrade tries to get in.
"Open up, Miss Posey and Miss Nielsen. Or should I say Miss Holmes and Miss Wilson?" Lestrade says, trying to push the door open.
"Inspector Lestrade, I need to report an attempted murder." Lilli tells him, as the three of them hold the chest in place. "You're suppose to be on our side."
"Help me get through this door." They hear Lestrade tell someone.
While Lestrade was talking to the other person Lilli was looking around the room.
"See that window over there?" Lilli asks. "It leads onto a roof. I need you both to climb out and take off into nowhere."
"And leave you?" Tewkesbury asks.
"I'm not going without you, Lil." Enola tells her.
"I need to hold this door." Lilli tells them.
"But you need to get away too!" Tewkebury says.
"My brothers already promised not to let me get sent to the finishing school. If he catches either of you, you're lives will be in danger. Enola you will get sent to the finishing school for definte and Tewkesbury, you will most likely get killed. Now go, both of you."
"I don't want to leave you, Lils. Not again." Tewkesbury tells her.
The door starts opening more and more.
"Go! Go!" Lilli shouts.
Enola waits for a moment before reluctantly going to the window and jumping out. Tewksbury, waits a little longer before doing the same. Stopping as he sits on the window ledge to look at Lilli one last time.
Lilli continues to struggle until Lestrade slowly gets through.
"He's worth more, but you give me greater pleasure." Lestrade says, as Lilli looks between him and the women who had given and and Enola the room.
She just hoped Liam would stick to his promise.
