Jay didn't think too much about the statement what it could have possibly meant. He didn't want to overthink and meld the statement into something he preferred, that is if he even preferred it in the first place. That would only mess him up. So he shrugged it off and only gave Jungwon a hum of his acknowledgement before he realized how t=damp his hands were getting as he thought about it.
"Do you want anything? We will be out for a while so I want to make sure you don't get hungry while we are out since we plan on going back to the dorms around nine," Jay told him.
Jungwon shook his head despite keeping his eyes on the snacks presented before them. "No, not for now. I can wait until we get back."
Jay sighed. "I'll get something for you," he told him, before reaching out for whatever had appeared appealing. Jungwon extended his hand, looking almost seconds away from grabbing Jay's wrist but he immediately pressed his arms at his sides.
"No. I said it was fine so you do not have t."
Jay glanced at him. Once again he chose not to think about Jungwon's actions and any underlying meaning behind them. Don't get too in over your head.
"Then I'll get it for me," Jay said. Luckily he had caught the small grin curling Jungwon's lips before he turned his head despite himself.
"Sure," Jungwon said, skepticism in his tone as if he was judging the veracity of Jay's comment, but he still chuckled though very slightly.
"What?" Jay said, placing whatever he had picked up into the basket (read: what he had noticed Jungwon was eyeing the most). "Do you think I'm lying?"
Jungwon only shrugged, acting coy about it. "Why do you think that?"
Jay shook his head, withholding a sharp grin on his face. "No reason."
"Riki and I are getting boba after this, do you want to come with or do you want us to get you one?" Sunoo abruptly asked, standing right beside their aisle. He must have just gotten there. Hopefully he had, Jay hoped.
Jay squinted. The two weren't dating--Sunoo made that clear many times before--but he surely wasn't going to get caught up in a third wheel matter. Also, he wasn't quite in the mood for a drink like that at the moment. "No," he said.
"And you, Jungwon?" Sunoo asked.
The boy immediately perked up, turning Sunoo's way. He pointed at himself and his eyebrows raised. "Me too?" He questioned him.
Sunoo nodded his head and brought up a small smile on his face. "Of course. Why not?"
"I have never tried it," Jungwon said.
"What?" Sunoo immediately said. "Ah no it's fine if you haven't I was just a bit surprised. Do you want to try it? You can come with us."
After a moment of consideration Jungwon had finally gave his response. He nodded and softly murmured a quiet yes.
At that, Jay sighed as if he were defeated. He had to weigh his options (read: he had to find a way to make it seem like he didn't change his mind just because Jungwon was going as well or else Sunoo would look at him weird), it was between staying behind with Jake and Sunghoon or go with Sunoo, Riki, and Jungwon. And he convinced himself that going as well would probably help Jungwon in some way and decided to say that he would as well.
"I'll go too. Who knows what Jake and Sunghoon would do."
And contrary to what Jay had thought would happen, despite his statement, Sunoo still gave him a look before nodding it off. "After this then," Sunoo said, then he walked off back to another aisle. Belatedly, Jay had realized Sunoo didn't have anything in his hands when he came by them, but that could have also meant that he had given it all for Riki to hold if Riki didn't offer to initially.
