Xingqiu leaped backwards and slammed his back into the wall. A towering monster leaped out from where Chongyun's small body had been just a moment before. It was just as Hisaya had described it. Larger than any man could be with fangs and claws that could slice through boulders like a knife through butter. It turned its large head and stared right into Xingqiu.
A shudder went through the entirety of Xingqiu's body and his stomach began to roll. The monster looked so much like Chongyun, but at the same time so different. His eyes were nothing more than a hungry darkness. The kindness and naivete of his friend and even the little boy was gone. This was a different being entirely.
The beast's tongue slid over its shining fangs and the monster leaped right at Xingqiu. Everything within Xingqiu froze. He couldn't move. He was going to die at the hands of his best friend. He was going to die.
As the beast's claws were just a breath away from Xingqiu's head, it disappeared entirely. Chongyun was once again curled up on the bed. Nothing more than a small boy.
Xingqiu fell to the floor and had to force back the bile rising in his throat. He was shaking all over and could barely muster the strength to look up at the rest of the room.
Hisaya and Mr. Tartaglia both had weapons in hand and their teeth gritted, Hu Tao and Xiangling had both frozen in place, and Dr. Baizhu stood beside the bed with a frown on his face and a bead of sweat making its way down his face.
Somehow the doctor had managed to reign back in the monster, but everyone was now wary and shaky.
"What..." Xingqiu managed to breathe. "What was that?"
"That," Dr. Baizhu adjusted his glasses on his nose. "That is what is wrong with your friend."

Chongyun rubbed his eyes and looked around him. Where had everyone gone? Miss Saya and Mr. Ajax were both gone and everyone else had also disappeared. Where were they? Where was he?
There was nothing but darkness everywhere. Chongyun seemed to be floating in an eternal emptiness. He didn't like it. Why was it so lonely? He wanted to go back to his friends. He didn't want to be left alone. He didn't want to be so lonely.
"Hello?" He whispered quietly to the nothingness. "H- hello?"
Hello, my darling. A voice echoed through the darkness.
