I took a deep breath, smiling at myself in the mirror. "we got this." i cooed placing my hand over my stomach.
"you ready bae?" Naamari kissed my cheek hugging me from behind.
I snapped out of my trance and nodded, "yeah. can we get Starbucks though? I've been craving a buttered croissant lately."
"Of course. You ok?" Naamari questioned with a worried expression.
"Y-yeah. I'm fine." I lied nodding and smiling at him. My heart hurt lying to him about everything, but i had too.
For my mission I had to stay on track before things went left.
After my meeting I'd contemplated risking everything I've worked hard for to come clean. I thought about the consequences I'd face and ultimately decided not to do anything that risky given the timeline i had.
This mission wasn't supposed to be a long term thing, I was given six months to complete the mission and move on.
Here I am with three weeks left and nothing to show for it. I plastered a fake smile on my face as I got into the car.
I took a deep breath waiting for him to get inside the car. "baby..i have something to tell you." I spoke holding back the tears.
"what is it?" he asked before starting the car.
I took a few deep breaths, smiling at him. "I just want to thank you for everything you've down for me and the baby. I can't wait to raise this child with you."
Naamari grabbed my hand, interlocking our fingers and holding it to his lips, kissing the back of my hand. "You're welcome baby."
