Corai Destiny Chamberlain >————<
I sat in the home movie theater watching Martin reruns in the dark while eating popcorn and drinking ginger ale.
"can i join?" Naamari's voice spoke, sending slight shivers down my spine.
Without making direct eye contact, "yeah." I say, nodding.
He walks further into the dark dim lit room, sitting beside me in the other lounge chair.
We sat in comfortable silence, watching and laughing simultaneously at whichever part we found funny.
We finished the entire 4th season before falling asleep, in each other's arms.

I woke up in the middle of the night, finding myself alone in the theater.
I frown, following the faint sounds of someone's voice coming from the kitchen.
"hey, i can't talk. I'm busy. I told you we would have to cool things down until the time was right. I'm not bout to argue with you lena." Naamari defeated sighed, hanging the phone up, he turned around to see me standing behind him.
"whose lena?" i clear my throat, pain seeping through as i tried to hide it.
"..." he stayed silent, his hand rubbing the back of his neck as he avoided eye contact.
Naamari was never the one to avoid eye contact, so I knew that this person hold some type of importance to him.
"let me guess, she's your friend."
"it's nothing serious, we're just friends. I met her last week. You think I'd move on that fast?" Naamari scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief.
He seen the uncertainty in my eyes, "wow, okay." He added, walking pass me.
I reach out for him, stopping him before he got out of my reach. "Mar, please.." i look directly into his eyes.
Those same brown eyes I once sought for comfort were dark and filled with sadness and anger.
The tension between us could be cut with a knife. "I can't do this, not right now." he spoke above a whisper.
My throat became tight, a lump forming as I tried to hold back any tears, "Naamari" i sniffle, letting him walk past me.
I followed his every move up the stairs until he disappeared into the guest room.
My back slid down the wall in the dining room, as tears stained my face and the events from that night replayed in my mind.
I was so hurt during that time I lashed out at whoever was in front of me. Naamari being one of them. He didn't deserve that.
I get up from my spot on the floor, wiping my eyes I go upstairs and change my clothes. I grab my car keys and walk out of my house.
I lock the front door behind me and walk to my car, the alarm chirped as i unlocked the door and got inside.
I needed to take my mind of things.

what the business is bybabyface ray drowned out my thoughts as I drove.
The roads were clear so I had free range to speed. My phone rung on the dash, i looked at the caller id before declining it.
I drove all night til the sun came up.
I pulled into the driveway and seen everybody car. I grabbed the bag that held my breakfast sandwich and got out, locking my car door.
I entered the house hearing familiar voices of my friends arguing back and forth. I walk toward the voices, "hey y'all." i giggle, they turn to me and a relief comes over their face.
"Coco where you been at? you couldn't answer yo damn phone?" Naamari yelled, his mug plastered on his face.
"I went for a drive and my phone died. my bad i didn't know i needed permission to leave the house." i say walking into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.
"that's not the fucking point! i called yo father and nem, damn near called the cops! you can't just leave late at night and not answer yo phone cause you needed some time to yourself!" he yelled louder, following me everywhere i went.
"chill out naamari it wasn't that fucking serious, damn! you actin like you my father or something, you're not!" i yelled back fed up with his overbearing attitude.
"yo deadass, you need to get your shit together cause this ain't the girl i fell in love with. I don't know who the fuck you are right now." he huffed, shaking his head.
"YOUR RIGHT IM NOT HER! she died a long time ago." i scoff angrily getting up from my seat. "im not for this bullshit. get the fuck out! matter fact, I'm gone!" i grab my purse and car keys, leaving the house once again.
this time i wasn't planning on going back.
