Tam

Get. Up.

Tam awoke to that dreadful feeling that you often have when you realise the weekend is fucking over and you actually have to go school. As the light shone in through the windows above his bed, they reflected off of Linh's bright pink pillows and absolutely blinded him. He groaned, but finally found the motivation to leave the cosy blanket oasis because Tam knew Keefe was going to be at Foxfire.

Tam dragged his sleepy ass out of bed and over to his bathroom. He brushed his teeth, showered, and even decided to re-apply the black coat of nail polish decorating his finger nails. Biana had given him the polish as his midterm's gift from her, and Tam wholeheartedly loved it.

After the polish dried, Tam got dressed and left his room to find Linh feeding Princess Purryfins downstairs. She grinned when she saw her brother, her eyes lighting up instantly. "TAMMY! How was your daaaaaate with your boyfrieeeeeeend?"

Tam flushed. He wasn't sure if Linh would've wanted to know what happened exactly, for obvious reasons. But the least Tam could do was tell her about the magical place and how beautiful it was. "...Good. He took me to the rooftop of this restaurant building and it had a pool. It was really nice, and the view was amazing. I think I should take you there sometime."

"Oooooh!" Linh mischievously poked Tam in the stomach, teasing him. "Thats so romaaaantic. What happened?"

Tam just looked at his sister and pursed his lips, mind lost on what to say.

"Wait... you didn't bring anything to swim in though. Did you? And...there was a pool. And you swam...right?" Linh stared back at him nervously, attempting to decipher the situation.

Tam snickered and nodded. Which was enough to make Linh raise her eyebrows to the fucking sky and change the subject almost immediately. "Right. Holy mallowmelt. Well... I think we should be getting to school... have you eaten?"

Tam nodded despite not even having touched a single food item for the past 12 hours. He wasn't that hungry. Plus, he would just eat at school during lunch, anyway. With Keefe.

"Alright then, let's go!" Linh yanked Tam to the leapmaster after he had grabbed his bag and other necessities for the day, and together they stepped into the light.

Tam tried not to immediately scan the on going prodigies for the perfectly sculpted blonde hair and ice blue eyes as he arrived, but the temptation got the better of him. Tam frowned, finding no sign of his boyfriend. It just meant that Tam would have to search for Keefe instead.

"I'll see you later, Tammy. I'm going to find Marella. Love you!" Linh smiled warmly and darted off, silver tipped hair whipping in the cool breeze.

Tam sighed, but found it sweet that his twin had found someone that made her happy. He roamed the halls of foxfire for what felt like ages, to the point were a horrible feeling that the bell for the first class was going to ring caused a heavy heart. A wave of relief washed over him as he finally spotted Keefe, although... something was undeniably off.

Keefe had faint dark circles weighing under his eyes and his hair was almost carelessly styled that morning. Which was concerning, extremely concerning... I mean, have you meg Keefe? He moved rigidly and his normally gorgeous bright blue eyes were dull and empty. He looked rather disheveled, honestly.

Tam approached him, frowning at the thought of what might be wrong. He sighed and decided to get straight to the point with his concerns. "Hey, Keefe. Is something up?"

Keefe turned to face him, and his features brightening for a moment before receding back to their gloomy display.

"Oh. Hey, Tam," Keefe quietly greeted, trying a smile that Tam could tell was really just a facade. "...Yeah. But it's nothing important, really. I don't want you to worry or—"

Foxfire's bell chimed throughout the halls, cutting Keefe off. Tam's heart sunk, knowing that he would have to wait for a proper explanation for why his boyfriend looked like a Tim Burton character (You can thank Sophie for telling Tam about Tim Burton films; Tam ended up being quite a fan).

Keefe shook his head and avoided eye contact, staring at the floor. "No... ack. Skip second period with me. Meet me outside the library, okay? Ill see you then."

Not waiting for an answer, Keefe squeezed the dark haired boys hand and quickly walked off. Tam wondered away to his first class, thoughts of worry clouding his mind. He didn't even know what the mentor was lecturing them in the class about, and it was like his mind was blocking out the information of the notes he was writing to enter his brain.

Fuck, he didn't even know what this class was. All he knew was that there was something wrong with Keefe, and Tam practically counted down the seconds before the second period. He had never considered ditching class before, but if that's what had to happen so he could make sure his boyfriend was okay, then that was more than fine.

At the end of class, Tam packed up his stuff and shoved it into his bag's zipper pocket. He weaved through prodigies crowding the Foxfire hallways, navigating himself to the designated meeting location. The bell had rang again before Tam had even gotten there, but once he turned the corner to see the library door he could see Keefe waiting there.

When Tam had stopped right in front of Keefe, the blonde boy simply took his hand and lead Tam outside the school. Despite the warm sun shining, a cold breeze still flowed throughout the area due to the winter season. Tam and Keefe sat there, against the brick wall, Tam waiting expectantly for Keefe to begin talking.

"I'm sorry," Those were all the words Keefe could manage to squeak out before his voice cracked. Tam noticed the tears suddenly streaming out of his eyes relentlessly and saw as Keefe's face become a portrait of sadness.

Tam wrapped his arms around him, so so so confused. When he spoke, he tried to make his tone as soft and considerate as possible. "About what, Keefe? What happened?"

Keefe just buried his face into Tam's shoulder, lightly sobbing and clinging to his boyfriend as he clutched him.
