Tam
Distant voices slowly dragged Tam back into a drowsy consciousness, as much as he was enjoying his sweet little dreams about mallowmelt and his golden haired boyfriend.

"HA! I think not, Vacker. We all know who Foxfire loves most, don't we?"

Tam's eyes blinked open at the sound of Keefe's arrogant voice filling his ears. Despite talking to Fitz, the boy was gazing gently down at Tam. Keefe was smiling slightly, sitting up in bed next to Tam with his arms folded over his bare chest.

"Good morning," Keefe murmured fondly, carefully shifting Tam's bangs away from his eyes with a lazy hand.

Somewhere across the room, Fitz laughed—the type of laugh some rich billionaire who had just won a golf tournament would make—rather incredulously. "I think you're popularity has gone downhill a little lately, Sencen. I thought you didn't even want to be prom king, anyway."

"Oh, I don't, not without Tammy," Keefe's eyes flicked over to Fitz, who was currently trying to run a brush through his bed ridden hair, his voice dripping with confidence. "But stealing that victory from you, turning it down, and letting everyone know you won with second place sounds a little too tempting."

Well, clearly they had gotten past the awkwardness of the morning before Tam had even woken up. As the two potential prom kings continued to argue about who would soon wear the crown, in about twenty minutes all of them had gotten dressed and presentable in their foxfire uniforms.

As they went down for breakfast, the girls were already munching and chatting over whatever Tiergan had prepared. Biana, for one, was being extraordinarily loud while talking to Marella. It seemed like Fitz and Keefe weren't the only ones who had been arguing over prom royalty that morning.

"I mean... we all know who gets the most crush cuffs in her thinking cap... so I'm just SAYING... that girl is definitely going to get prom queen. I don't mean to sound rude, but... does anyone else really have a chance?" Biana asked, quite excited about the whole ordeal before taking a bite of food.

It was obvious that she was directing her words towards Sophie, who was scowling at the dining table a few seats down; grumpily drinking some lushberry juice through a straw. The room suddenly seemed very tense, and Marella and Linh shot grateful stares at the boys when they sat themselves down.

What the fuck happened between Sophie and Biana last night??

A moments of awkward silence passed between exchanged glares, before Linh finally perked up shyly with a welcoming smile. "So! How... uhh, how did you guys sleep??"

The morning passed in idle conversation before the group left in a flash of light for Foxfire after they had eaten ( most of which was done in uncomfortable and dreary silence ). However, everything seemed to roar to life again when Tam made his first step into the main school building.

Prodigies were bustling around in hives, giggling insufferably. Tam thought that, if you really wanted to, you could've walked into Foxfire with hot pink skin and green hair and these prodigies would've been too caught up in their own little worlds to notice. The younger prodigies who were prohibited from attending the night were bitter and deflated, but that didn't seem to dampen the mood at all.

"They have every right to be excited," Keefe spoke, probably noticing Tam's horrified and slightly distasted look as he observed his intoxicating surroundings. "Tonight is gonna be fun."

Magnate Leto made an announcement that morning, before the last few hours of anticipation through boring class periods commenced.

"Fourth level prodigies and above—you may be aware that the official Foxfire Prom will occur tonight! The event will kick off at 8pm, and conclude at midnight. Voting for both prom king and queen will be conducted during, and the results will be announced at 11pm! You are welcome to wear your finest gala-worthy gowns and jerkins, ahem... just make sure it's nothing too... revealing! I am looking forward to seeing all of you attend!"

The speech ended with a rapturous round of applause from all the exhilarated teens. Tam even found himself clapping along with the crowd, much to his disbelief and horror. He never thought he would actually be excited for such a frivolous social event, but here he was.

Holy mallowmelt. Someone save me.

The Foxfire day passed furiously slow. But eventually, after enduring the many periods of listlessly listening to what Tam couldn't even recall at this point, the final bell had rung. Rounds of cheers echoed through the halls as prodigies excitedly left home for the day, each knowing that when coming back they would be adorned in glamour, ready for prom.

Tam wrung his hands nervously, tugging his bangs over his eyes as he waited at Foxfire's entrance for Keefe. Linh and Marella were a few feet away from him, cheerily clinging to each other and grinning and squealing and hugging and all of it was starting to give Tam a headache... but he couldn't help but be a little bit happy as well. For them, at least.

"Hey," Keefe greeted, sneaking up behind Tam with a smirk. He blew the dark haired boy a kiss and winked, charming as ever. "I'll see you at 7:30 tonight, yeah?"

Tam nodded nervously, and Keefe seemed to frown at him in disapproval. The blonde boy huffed. "Well, no need to look so down about hanging out with your amazing boyfriend at prom..."

Cue the extensive, indifferent silence.

Keefe frowned more. "You'll be okay, okay? Im not gonna let anything happen to you..." He trailed off, leaning in and reaching for Tam's hands to intertwine in his.

Tam stumbled back hesitantly, his eyes widening as he glanced around the halls for any departing prodigies who might've saw. He sighed, speaking firmly although chuckling a little as his face reddened slightly. "Don't push it, funkyhair..."

Keefe barked a smug laugh and sauntered over to Foxfire's grand entrance. He gave Tam one last loving look before passing through the doors. "Alright, Tammy... don't be late!"
