-Jahaan-
Dhivti sat down on the floor beside me and hugged me. I waste no time to hug her back. She has initiated a hug for the first time. I embrace her tightly.
She asked about my story, and I told her. Not because I wanted her pity or her understanding. But because she asked. I will never hide myself from Dhivti. She deserves to know everything about me and I will lay myself bare in front of her- the broken, fucked up parts included.
Because that is what Dhivti Verma deserves. Raw Honesty.
She pulls back and I reluctantly loosen my hold on her. She looks into my eyes and I gently wipe her tears. She raises her hand and wipes mine away too.
"Jahaan Joshi rota hua bilkul acha nahi lagta," she whispers softly.
"Par Dhivti Verma toh har haal mein achi lagti hai," I whisper back.
She blushes.
"Sharmate hue toh beyhadh pyaari," I state, as a small smile appears on my face, looking at her.
She tries to glare at me but fails. I chuckle.
"Jahaan," she says, her tone suddenly serious. I look at her, urging her to continue.
"Remember one thing, you are nothing like your father. Don't even for a second doubt yourself regarding that. You are a real man. A man who loves wholly. A man who respects women. A man who values family. A gentleman. And this world - this world needs more men like you."
My Dhivti. How can she talk about me like this and expect me not to fall harder for her? Gosh, I love this woman so much- it hurts.
I cup her face and bring her face closer- planting my lips on her forehead, gently.
"Tumne keh diya na...bas itna kaafi hai. Maan liya," I whisper when I pull back, looking into her eyes.
She smiles slightly- softly and that sight...it melts me.
"Kya baat hai, Dhivti Verma? Aaj kal bohoth muskura rahi ho...kahin pyaar toh nahi hogaya?" I tease her and her eyes widen as crimson covers her cheeks immediately.
I chuckle.
"P-pyaar kyun hoga?" she stammers and I raise my eyebrow, teasingly.
"Kyun nahi ho sakta? Jahaan Joshi cheez hi aisi hai," I brag and she narrows her eyes, "what a self-obsessed man," she mutters and I smirk, "you are obsessed too, baby," I wink and she hits my chest. I laugh.
"Okay okay, you need rest Dhivti. It's 1am," I remind her.
"I don't want to leave you alone tonight," she whispers softly.
I smile, "I am fine, Dhivti. I promise," I reassure her.
"You will come to me if you don't feel okay and need someone?"
"I'd come to you anyway," I whisper and hold her hand before pecking the inside of her wrist.
She reluctantly nods and we both stand up but she loses her balance and I immediately hold her from her waist, "aaram se, Dhivti," I say softly.
"I suddenly just felt dizzy," she murmurs.
"It's okay, it's normal. You are under medication, Just be careful, okay?" I tell her and she nods.
I take her hand and walk out of my room, personally dropping her to her room.
We enter her room and I gently make her lie down on her bed and cover her with the duvet.
