"WANNA GO to the karaoke with me, Y/N-chan?"

I put down the chopsticks after I finished eating my bento (eng. lunchbox) and immediately shot down Keiko's invitation without hesitation. "Sorry, but no."

It was now noon break. Most of our classmates were out in the cafeteria to have their lunches while only a few of us left in the classroom. Keiko and I had our own bentos and decided to eat here instead in the Student Council Office like our usual routine. The heater in the office broke down and I did not want to spend my lunchtime freezing half to death knowing that it was the start of the winter season.

Her lips formed into a dejected pout. "Why not? Don't be a pooper, Y/N! It'll be fun! Besides, we don't have anything to do in the Student Council later and there's no cram school."

"Still a no," I firmly rejected her. "What's with the sudden invite anyway?"

She shrugged. "No reason. It's Shunsuke-kun's idea. You can also invite Mikey-kun to join us."

Her afterthought suggestion made me raise both of my eyebrows. "What? Him?" The thought of Mikey singing in the karaoke bar along with us while sporting his Toman uniform was something I could never imagine and caused me to sweatdrop. Inviting him over for a karaoke was certainly out of the question. "I don't think that's such a good idea. Wouldn't that be awkward with your boyfriend? Mikey's his superior in the gang after all. I highly doubt he will approve of it."

Keiko seemed to haven't given it a thorough contemplation. "Oh, I guess you're right. But will you come with us?" she insisted and even batted her eyelashes at me. "Pretty please, Y/N-chan!"

Staring at her pleading eyes, I could only heave an exasperated sigh and massage my temples in distress. This persistent girl never knew when to give up! Like seriously!

Yet in the end, I begrudgingly said yes.

"I still can't believe a kouhai (eng. junior) in our school was promoted as one of the highly respected captains in Toman," Shunsuke spoke in disbelief with Keiko listening to him attentively while I heed no interest to his idle chatter.

The three of us were now on our way toward the karaoke bar around the shopping district after the end of our last afternoon class. I already messaged Mikey on the phone beforehand about the hang-out and simply told me to have fun with them. He would just pick me up once we were done and ready to go home.

"You did say it's Hanagaki-kun of Second Year Class Three." Keiko stroked her chin intriguingly and turned her head to me. "Did you know about this, Y/N-chan?"

"M'yeah, somehow." I recalled how Chifuyu asked Mikey a favor about appointing Takemichi as his new captain back at the cemetery. It took me by surprise at first. When did those two become so acquainted with each other?
