Aarons POV

I picked Amelia up from the hospital, in tears. She was shaking and blabbering words I couldn't understand, I didn't know what to do so I just hugged her, I guess it was the right thing to do.

I hated downtown Boston traffic, we were standing for almost two hours without moving an inch.

"Should I feel guilty that I've calmed down?" Says Amelia, looking down at her phone.

"You don't have to have a panic attack to prove you care, I mean, when Natalie died I cried for a week, then just learned to live. Of course I had guilt but you shouldn't have to." I answer, using my own experience.

"My mom isn't dead, Aaron." She says, hurt by my answer.

"I know that, sorry." I say.

She touched my hand, they were off the wheel because I had no hope we would be out of the traffic anytime soon.

"Jesus, its three already." She points out.

"We have been standing for so long." I said and heard Amelia sigh.

Suddenly, I remembered a shortcut my dad taught me. I just needed one car to go into the other lane.

After it did I swung across the street and was now driving, we were out of the traffic and would be home in less then fifteen minutes.

"What the fuck just happened?" Said Amelia, with wide open eyes.

"Shortcuts, you'll be home in ten minutes, love." I tell her, with a wink.

Her smile grows but drops as she says. "I don't want to go home.."

"You have to, it would be unfair to Elliot if you didn't tell him." I say.

I love Amelia, in another way then Elliot, but its still love. I have to look out for Elliot aswell.

"That's true, but I wish he just knew without me having to tell him." She says, and I secretly agree.

"Its okay, don't worry. You'll get through it." I say.

Soon after we arrived at Amelia's place and she kissed me and got out. She waved as I drove off back home.

I made sure she got in the house though.

Soon later I arrived home aswell, my mom was in the garden, reading.

"Aaron, we have to talk." She says, putting her book away and making place for me to sit next to her, on the swing.

"Yes?" I asked, starting the conversation, sort of confused though.

"Have you found a girlfriend? If you have I want to meet her before we leave." She says, like she's been wanting to say it all year.

"Actually, you already know her." I say, with a smile.

"Oh," She says, looking around us in confusion. "who is it?" She adds.

"Its Amelia, mom." I admit, looking at her light eyes glance for a moment.

"Amelia? Our Amelia?" She asks, denying it.

I nod and watch her smile drop momentarily, and my confusion came back.

"Aaron, honey. That girl is unstable, she will just hold you back from your bright future." My mom says, and I hate it, that she's talking about Amelia that way.

"No, mom. She will make my future brighter if she's in it. And don't talk about her that way." I said, looking in my mothers eyes, dead serious.

She lets a scoff out and dramatically stands up and walks back into the house.
