Amelia's POV
I asked Aaron to stay over after our date, I wasn't feeling as good and I needed someone that I knew would keep me from doing anything stupid.
We were in my room, just talking.
"Are you excited? I mean you have a game and the next morning you're going to be a Harvard student!" I said, laying on the bed.
"We cant forget the ball, too." He said, smiling down at me.
"Right." I sighed, pulling out my block from my backpack where all the important information was listed.
Me, Maddie and Zoe have been planning the final afterparty before the official season starts . Maddie booked the palace, its like an old empty museum with decorations, tables and a place to dance. Zoe asked her parents, who are chefs, to cook. While I sent invitations.
"We are going together, right?" He asked, smirking.
"Were not secret anymore, why not?" I said, writing something in my checklist.
"I still need to get a dress, though." I continued.
"What if you make it?" Aaron suggests.
"What?" I laughed.
"I'm serious, you could use one of your designs. Maddie could help you too!" He adds.
"Maybe, but I don't know how I'm going to make it to the game." I said, making his face kind of drop. He's not used to not having me on the bleachers, its just that I have always been at every game the team has ever played, I watched guys walk in and out of the team and watched them grow up.
"I'm sure you will." Aaron says, comforting himself.
The next morning I woke up alone, Aaron had to drive to New York to get some stuff for school, he bought me yellow orchids though.
The first thing I did in the morning was text my mom.
Me : I'm going to make a dress for the ball, Maddie is coming over to help me.
Mom : That's amazing sweetheart, say hello to Maddie for me and send a picture.
Me : Mhm, love you.
Mom : I love you.
My mother wanted me to act like literally nothing was wrong, she wanted one last normal month.
I thought about her, a lot. I knew she would die soon but I didn't expect it to be this soon. That's why I tried not to talk about her as much, I know its incredibly selfish, but I just want to forget about her, I don't want to put up with the pain.
I got up and made my bed, trying not to feel depressed.
I had a dream that Elliot and Maddie got together all of a sudden and it felt kind of weird.
Its not like I would have a problem with it or anything, it just would be pretty odd.
Soon after I got up Maddie was in front of my front door, with a bunch of materials we will use.
We were sitting on my bedroom floor, setting up everything we needed.
"So, did you think of any designs?" She asked, looking into my design notebook.
"Maybe we could do one of yours?" I asked, smiling, and her eyes glanced at the thought.
"Well, if you insist." She sarcastically said.
I picked out a baby blue color for my dress and soon after me and Maddie were getting to work, in every meaning of that word.
"I'm kind of scared that Aaron will leave me when he goes to college." I say, out of the blue.
"Okay, that was random. Why do you think that?" She asks, cutting the material perfectly and not taking her eyes off of it.
"I mean, I know it wont happen I'm just kind of scared, you know?" I say, sewing details in.
"You don't need to be scared, Aaron wont even look at another girl, I promise you." She reassures me.
"Okay, topic change. Am I invited to the ball?" Maddie asks.
"Duh, its literally the last free weekend. And you're my best friend." I say.
"True that." She says.
When I was thinking about besties, I remembered I hadn't talked to my other one since Ellie..you know.
