Alora p.o.v
There are moments when I find myself truly despising my life. This was one of those moments.
Youre glaring, Elias announced, stopping at a red light. Of course, I was glaring. I now owned a car, yet for some inexplicable reason, I wasnt allowed to use it.
I am, I retorted, gritting my teeth.
Elias laughed, causing me to roll my eyes and sigh. I just had to make it home. It couldnt be that bad. He couldnt be that bad.
Stop touching, Elias scolded. I couldnt survive with him. I diverted my gaze from Elias and began staring at the rearview mirror. My eyes caught sight of a black car. It was close, but not too close. Looking at this car, my gut feeling warned me that something bad was about to happen.
We turned right, but my eyes remained glued to the black car as it followed our turn.
Turn right, I whispered to Elias. He looked at me in confusion. We have to turn left though? He questioned.
Please, just turn right, I pleaded, exhaling slowly. He complied, turning right, and I saw the car continue to follow us. I took slow, deep breaths and turned to look at Elias, only to find him looking back at me.
You okay? He asked, causing me to shake my head.
What happened? He questioned, his gaze returning to the road. I think someone is following us, I stated, my eyes now fixed on the car.
I think its that I paused, wondering if I could be wrong.
Black Mercedes? Elias completed my sentence, causing me to stare at him in shock.
I noticed, he whispered, looking at me. I found myself unconsciously smiling. Our moment was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Elias quickly pushed my head down.
Okay, you wanted to drive. Well, here you go, Elias said, grabbing my waist and placing me in the drivers seat while he attempted to move to the passenger seat. It turns out that if youre incredibly tall and buff, this isnt something you want to try.
The steering wheel, Elias said, trying to free his leg. I quickly grabbed the steering wheel and changed lanes to move away from the gunfire.
Finally, remind me not to try that again, Elias sighed in relief. I glanced at the road and then back at Elias, only to find him holding a gun!
WHY DO YOU HAVE A GUN? I yelled, turning to look at him with wide eyes.
THE ROAD, ALORA, he yelled back as I grabbed the wheel.
YOURE ON THE WRONG LANE, He yelled, staring at the car coming right at us.
Shit!
I changed lanes, but the sound of the cars horn made me wince. Theres a reason why your father doesnt let you drive, Elias shook his head, loading up the gun.
SHUT UP, OKAY, I yelled.
THE WHEEL!
Elias started shooting back as I ducked my head, going way over the speed limit. The constant sound of horns and gunfire was all I could hear. I made a sharp turn, causing Elias to fall backward.
Their firing wont kill us, but your driving sure will, he sighed, causing me to glare at him.
Road, he said, reminding me.
Ugh! I had had enough. I made a sharp left turn, causing the tires to squeak. Elias seemed unfazed as he continued shooting. My first time driving on actual roads, and I had broken every road law! I had crossed more than one red light and was way past the speed limit. Great!
