Alora p.o.v

Hidden by the forest's guard so high,

Battling, longing to catch my eye.

Echoes of our bond fill the space,

Yet my reply, like a mirror, stays the same,

A quiet call for you to see my honest face.

But, it doesn't matter all I say, do or think because the conclusion would always remain that ...I hate him....

"You seem lost," Elias whispers, glancing at our project. I clear my throat," No, just waiting for the bell. Eager to get home" He hums in response, "Good," he says, showing me the final product.

"Yeah," I reply. We walk out after submitting our project, the bell ringing in our ears.

I couldnt shake off the feeling of being watched. I scanned the surroundings, hoping to spot something unusual, but found nothing.

I approach my locker and open it, only to be met with a horrifying sight that makes me scream. A dead rabbit. Blood. So much blood. And a note. With trembling hands, I unfold it

-----

"Shes waking up", someone says. I groan, clutching my head. As I sit up, I see my family, friends, and Elias gathered around me. Confusion clouds my mind for a moment, but then it all comes rushing back. The rabbit, the blood, the note Watch out, darling

"What" I whisper. "Im gonna kill whoever did that", Zena declares, her fists clenched. A chorus of agreement follows.

Awkward

"Alora, dear, do you have any idea who might have done this?" Dad asks, his voice filled with concern. I open my mouth to tell him everything, but the words refuse to come out. What should I tell them? Would they even believe me? What if I lose their respect? Nothing would be the same anymore So, I simply shake my head.

Thats okay, dont worry. No one will harm you, Im here", Dad whispers, pulling me into a comforting hug. One by one, they all leave, except for Elias.

"Are you not leaving?" I ask awkwardly, but he just stares back. You know who did it, dont you? He questions, causing my body to tense up. no, I manage to say. Hmm, he responds.

"Why are you still here?" I question as he takes a seat. His only response is, I want to be here.

Did Dad tell you to guard me or something? I ask, annoyance creeping into my voice. No, he replies.

Can you leave?

No.

Move?

No.

I roll my eyes, frustrated. WHY are you so annoying? I yell.

Someone THREATENED you, and youre not helping by keeping things to YOURSELF! he yells back. Im left speechless

Does that mean you care? I finally ask.

No, ew, he retorts. I laugh, turning to see a small smile on his face.

No one will hurt you, Alora, I promise, he says, his face serious and sincere. For a moment, I believe him. I believe that I wont get hurt anymore, that I could actually live peacefully. But that belief lasts only for a moment, as my mind reminds me that happiness is fleeting, and pain is inevitable
