Giraff's source of attraction:- A little rabbit.

Author's Pov

Alexander stilled for a few seconds before he regained his posture, his insides burned after digesting her insult. It wasn't like he never got insulted or called names before but it was indeed the first time when someone had the guts to say it right on his face especially after he joined the business world.

"What!" He mumbled as aggression filled his eyes making the girl raise her chin to keep eye contact with him.

"You're obviously delusional if you think I said yes to Eric's proposal because of your loose threat and warning," She paused shaking her head at him like she couldn't believe he actually was this much self-conceited.

"You're not that important that I will compromise on what my sister wants, it's because of her that I said yes. It's because she likes your brother too and is willing to give him a chance. So, yes you're being delusional." His hands fisted in a deadly grip resulting in the veins to be prominent on his perfectly large hands.

Breaking the eye contact Serenity looked away before she stepped beside the stilled man, "If your interrogation is finished I have to head back." Keeping her eyes away from him she tried walking past him when suddenly a light gasp escaped her lips taking a step back.

Just when she stood in front of the exit of the balcony a large hand appeared roughly sliding the glass door shut right on her face making her stumble back in shock, her back hit the foreign hard chest and she instantly froze at the spot. His heavy breathing was hitting her head as he was standing right above her.

Her breath hitched when he palmed the door trapping her between his arms leaving no chance for her to escape, she felt a shiver running down her spine when he slightly bent his head near her ear. Serenity hadn't been this close to any man for the past five years, and she absolutely didn't want that man to be Alexander.

"Never look away from me when we are having a conversation," His deep breathy whisper hit her ear making her unconsciously fist her shirt. His voice was deep yet there was something in it that instantly wavered the courage she had built in her.

"Never walk away when I am not done talking," She gulped when he leaned closer and she felt his lips lingering on her earlobe.

She noticed his left hand which was placed over the glass door curling into a tight fist as he mumbled the last sentence, " I don't know about the delusional little rabbit, but I do know that people call me devil for sure. So you can assume the d in my name stands for devil," He paused letting an intense breathless silence engulf the cold surroundings.

"And try to walk or look away from me next time you might see why am I called a devil." He completed his words in his unusually deep low tone before he finally stepped back from her releasing the door for her to open.

Serenity never felt this intimidated or bothered by someone's proximity before, the silence was too loud yet toe-curling to stand there or even glance at the man who had left her speechless. Letting out a shaky breath she opened the door and with her slightly trembling feet she walked out of the room leaving the heated man whose condition wasn't any better.

Alexander indeed slammed the door shut just to tell her how he resented her looking away from him when they were still having a conversation but the moment he leaned closer to her, her scent froze his senses. He never lowered his tone in such a manner that he seemed so breathless and bothered.

He was sure she must have thought that he didn't like her walking away so he decided to threaten her that way but the truth even Alexander couldn't accept that she affected him so much. The huskiness in his voice appeared on its own, having a woman this close to him wasn't something new. Women always tried finding ways to hug him by taking advantage of the situation around the media.
