Chapter 9

Tengen Uzui's POV

I heard about Rengoku's downfall, also that the demon and his brother were there too. I'm surprised that they were the only ones to survive. Tch, how pathetic

I wanted to ask those pipsqueaks about what the upper rank looked like, and as far as I know, they might be in the Butterfly Mansion. I went to the recovery room to see Kocho, and the demon girl sitting next to Kamado and his friends

"What's going on here?"
Kocho faced me... Her look sent shivers down my spine... She looked just like Kanae... It's not the first time we faced each other but she seems more lively...

"Ah, Tengen Uzui am I right? The kids are sleeping, so please don't make much noise" A lot of things about her changed... The way she speaks too... If I am not wrong, she doesn't know anything about her sister, like her death... Maybe it was her childhood trauma that made her that way. Now that she has forgotten everything...

"Let's talk outside" I left the recovery room and went to the garden at the back, I heard footsteps behind me, guess it was Kocho's

"As you know, I am Tengen Uzui, the
Sound Hashira" I turned around to face her crossing my arms

"Pleased to meet you Uzui San, Shinibu Kocho, the Insect Hashira"

"Talking about breathing technique, are you changing your breathing style?"

"I found my old Insect breathing record and I am planning to follow it, I don't have any intentions of changing my style" Now that I think about it, why did I bring her here?

"Is there something else you want to ask me? I think I should be with Tanjiro and the others" I couldn't speak... She was a lot like Kanae... We almost lost her...

"I'm sorry... I couldn't protect you.. " she glared at me like I had killed someone special to her.

"I can protect myself. And I don't want anyone to do that for me. I don't want you to see me as Kanae's sister but as Shinob. And if you can't, then fuck off!" she was angry, very angry

"I-" She left the garden before I could even utter another word, I was just shocked... Maybe I should talk to Tomioka after this?

Shinobu Kocho's POV

Tomioka San was wrong. Nobody even knows me... I don't exist to them! I suddenly hate this sister of mine... If they couldn't protect her, it's their fault! Don't come to me for that. I walked out of the mansion and followed to wherever my legs took me, I didn't want to see anyone...

Half an Hour Later

I tripped over something and fell, I got myself wounded in my arms and they started bleeding... I was in the forest, how do I get back? I groaned in stress and walked forward hoping to reach any village or so. It was getting dark too, there might be demons wandering around, and since I hadn't mastered any technique or have my Katana in hand, I'd be their dinner.

"Are you lost my dear~?" a cold deep voice sent shivers down my back... I've heard of that voice ones... I turned around to see no one was on site

I looked around but then suddenly I felt something sharp on my neck

"Don't scream, even if you do, there is no one to hear you out, now, let me introduce myself! My name is Douma, and would you be willing to live with me for eternity?" Douma? The name sounded very familiar

"Douma?"

"Hm? Oh! Shinobu!" he let go of the sharp object and came in front of me.
"My bad Shinobu San! I didn't recognize you~ Now where have you been?"

I didn't respond, by looking at him, many things fled my head... The word 'upper 2' was written on his eye... Which means he is a demon... I can't tell him about the demon slayers. He was a demon, I knew the other upper ranks too! I met them... But where? How? My head felt so heavy... Everything around me was fading away...

Flashback

"If Nakime's information is not wrong, she is Shinobu Kocho, Insect Hashira" This voice... Dark and cold, I have never heard it before... I couldn't move or open my eyes to see who it was, but I felt a demon's presence, an upper rank maybe?

"Are you planning to make her a demon Master?" a demon? Me?

"Yes, we have found Tamayo's hiding spot, we will send the Hashira there to kill her" No... I don't want to kill a human... Please don't turn me into a demon... I haven't had my revenge from the upper two for killing my sister...

I felt my veins pop, blood rushing onto me, and many memories fled my head, who is this?

He is going to kill me! He is going to cut my neck!!

No... It's just a memory... But not mine...

I'm starving... Craving for meat...

End of flashback

I woke up feeling many people staring at me... No... Demons staring at me... I lifted my hands to rub my eyes but they did not move an inch... Its hands were tied down... I could get up. My eyes were blinded...

"Shinobu San! You must be hungry~ here! Have this~" I smelled something good which woke my hunger... It was killing me, I felt my teeth grinding each other as the smell came closer. I tried to go closer to it but I was tied back. "There, there Shinobu San! It is all yours... You can have it, be patient"

I felt some sort of meat in my mouth... And suddenly everything went blank...

I have completed writing the book... Well, the rest of the chapters are in draft, but a quick question...

If Giyuu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho have a child, male or female, what would you want their name to be?
