The lost widow

Part 9

A few moments later you gained consciousness again your head was throbbing, and everything hurt. You tried getting up. Still, every time you tried, you would lose balance and fall once again. You managed to steady yourself enough to stand up. Help was on the way; you knew they had already traced your location and were on their way here. You just feared what would happen after, you propped yourself up against the payphone and stared off into the distance as your vision got blurry again. Meanwhile, they had already traced your location after you called Nat and were a few minutes away. As they pulled up, Nat jumped out of the still moving car and ran towards you, Tony and Yelena not falling too far behind. You saw bright lights getting closer and closer which scared you, as you were in no condition to fight but your panic came to a halt after seeing Nat's worried face running in your direction. She kneeled in front of you, hugging you tighter than ever,
Nat: "Y/n, omg don't ever do that again we were so worked I was so worri-"(she stops talking as she pulls away only to see blood on her hand where she wrapped her arm around you. Panic filled her eyes as she looks you over for wounds, but you stop her before she could reach your stomach)
Y/n: "I'm so sorry, l- I'm okay, really it's nothing." (you tried covering up the fact you were about to pass out again) "it's just that these three guys tried mugging me and I managed to knock them out, but not before they stabbed me.." (you slowly lift up your shirt revealing a highly wrapped wound and blood seeping through the fabric) Nat quickly put pressure on your wound trying to prevent more blood loss, as you started drifting in and out of consciousness
Nat: "Stay with me kid, stay with me...
Tony and Yellena just watched as this unfolded. Nat carried you into the car while still putting pressure on your abdomen, and they drove as fast as they could back to the compound and brought you to the med bay where Stephen and Bruce were already waiting
S: "Place her on the table" he said and imidetelly flipped you over checking if the stab wounds went all the way through.
S: ""Okay this is not good. 'Il need to operate as her kidney is perforated, but I can still save it. ", he said while preparing your already unconscious body. He got everyone out and started working on you while Nat paced in front of the med bay. Nat: "What is taking so long.." (She tries to go in but Yelena stops her)
Y: "You won't help her by interrupting the procedure. Just calm down, it has only been about an hour, and we're all on edge, especially you, but you need to calm down for Y/n's sake."
Nat nods and sits with the rest of the avengers who have gathered in front. After a few hours, Stephen comes out with a smile on his face.
Stephen: "She's alright. I fixed all the damage, she's resting now. You can see her.." ( everyone tries to get in, but he stopped them from entering.), "but we do have a problem, she just survived losing amoust all her blood, and somehow half my work was already done when I went in. That isn't normal. She shouldn't be breathing right now. I don't know how, but somehow- her own body started helping itself at a non-human rate. She's something else, but I'm not sure what.
Her DNA did show some remnants of experimental serums I have never seen before. Do you have any idea whe-"
Nat: "Hydra, she said they tortured her, but I didn't know that was what she meant... Wanda: "If Hydra did this to her, then there's no telling what else she might be able to do, I mean look at me..."
Steve: Wanda's right, she could be dangero-"
Nat: "Don't even finish that sentence. She is a 14-year- old girl who has been to hell and back, and yes she has abilities and knowledge that a child her age should not be burdened with, but she has them. She didn't ask for this, and she sure as hell does not need to be locked up and tested on aga-"
Steve: "I'm sorry, those were not my intentions.
Yelena: "Alright, let's all just settle down-" She gets cut off by you opening the door and stumbling into the hallway.
Bruce: "What?! how are you even awake right now, let alone walking..
Stephen: "I guess we should stop applying the laws of nature to you know.." (he chuckles as Nat supports you while embracing you in a hug)
Y/n: "I'm so sorry I didn't-"
Nat: "None of that matters now, I'm just happy you're okay." (she cups your face wiping away a stray tear)
Stephen: "Now let's get you back to bed before you rip all my stitches open."
You walk back in with Stephen and Nat as everyone had left to give you your space. Stephen sat you down on the bed. Stephen: "Remarkable, you're almost fully healed, how are you feeling?"
Y/n: "I'm fine really- " (you grunt as he gets to your wound) "maybe a bit sore. Can I go to my room now? I don't like being here..", you say as you look around, getting reminded of all the testing rooms you had been strapped down in.
S: "I don't see why not, just take it easy for a few days,and I reckon school is out of the question", he laughs and gives you a wink as he walks away.
You look at Nat with a guilt- ridden face
Y/n: "I-I- ljust-"
Nat: "I'm not mad, it's alright I'm just glad you're okay." (She hugs you again before helping you back to your room) "you want to tell me what happened?" Y/n: (you wanted to make something up again, but something in you stopped you, and you burst out in tears) "I just didn't want you to look at me differently...I just lost control, and everything started running through my head when he did it, and ljust, I-"
Nat: "Whoa, slow down, I'm not sure I understand... Are you talking about what happened at school?"
Y/n: (you nod and she lifts up your head with her hand and wipes your tears) "He pinned me to a wall and tried to kiss me, even after I told him to stop.." (she just listens with a straight face), I- I was scared to tell you, and I was ashamed, because I started having flashbacks to every time someone did that stuff to me, and I didn't mean to hurt him. He just wouldn't stop, and everything came back, every single thing every single time..the guards touched me or took all my clothes off for their own amusement.. every red flag was set offin my head I just-"
Nat: "I am so sorry that happened to you, I'm sorry I didn't listen when you needed me to-" You hug her which caught her by surprise
Y/n: "l know, I'm sorry too.. for not telling you what was going on." (You thought about telling her about the girls at school, but you didn't want to burden her anymore, so you just decide to keep that to yourself)I love you.
Nat pulls away from the hug and looks at you with a nurturing look you had never seen before.
Nat: "I love you too.." You two continued cuddling on your bed until you fell asleep. Nat knew she would have to talk to you about your abilities sooner or later, but for now, she just let you both enjoy the small moment of peace which didn't frequently happen in your lives.
