A/N: Do we want more illustrations? Keep it scarce or give one or two per chapter?

And y'all...😩 if there is chemistry between certain characters, it's not (entirely) my fault. It doesn't mean they're gonna be a thing and your ship is in trouble here, or that Camren isn't gonna have many good & easy moments. It's just drama, it's moving the story. Just wanted to clarify before somebody gets so upset and panics for nothing. Every character has a motive here.

West Perrine - Miami-Dade

A chill drifts in the warm, sticky air on a night where things seem too calm to be true. Even for this side of town. Driving through the saddest blocks of West Perrine at this hour—technically morning but still too premature for anyone to call it that—keeps Benito, Carlos, Oscar, and Ronaldo on high alert. They've all lived in similar neighbourhoods in Puerto Rico; the worse it looks, the more guarantees of shooters and heavy surveillance by those who don't know nothing about sleep even if it were staring them dead in the face. But none of that makes them turn the car around and back out of the plan.

It's unusually quieter tonight, and there aren't exactly people chilling on front lawns, or even the poor lost souls getting high on the sidewalks to call out the '78 black and grey Lincoln Versailles cruising at 20MPH, and the four boys unfamiliar to the territory. Call it sheer luck. Benito sits in the backseat and gets away with sticking his head out the window, his eyes peeled for Lauren or Ariel—it didn't matter which one he'd take out first. And perhaps it is also sheer luck that he spots Raúl and Sasha leaving a small house together, Ariel at the door shouting how crucial it is to get Hennessy and Hypnotiq to make the Incredible Hulk drink everybody at the clubs in South Beach keeps talking about.

To avoid suspicion and Ariel peeping not only the car but the passengers inside it, Benito quickly ducks out of sight and Carlos steps on the gas, taking a turn a the second intersection, missing Raúl and Sasha. Carlos doesn't hurry to spin the block; he pulls over and camps out a bit on the other side, proposing that they stop and think about the move they'll make.
