rainbow fire

~Vesta~

I sat on the stool as Em and Tay kept trying on different outfits. I sighed and looked at Sav she looked just as bored as I was. I motioned to the forest and she shook her head no. I groaned and leaned back completely bending over the stool, my head hit the ground and I saw Jax standing there. Looking at some jeans he looked at me and smirked. Ugh. Savanna pulled me back up and I asked “how long have we been here!!” Johnny laughed and said “about three hours.” I groaned and looked at the sky. The sun was heading west which meant it was getting really late.

I groaned and suddenly brilliance struck me. “I’m gonna go pee!” I shouted and ran to the bathroom. As I ran I walked into the bathroom and leaned on the wall waiting. Then Savanna walked in and said “ok sneak what are you up to?” I smiled and took her arm I opened the bathroom door slowly Tay and Em were in the changing room we went down low and crept out the front door. Johnny saw me and smiled saying “peace out I’m gone!” he ran out and we all piled into my jeep and headed to my home. My aunt would still be out.

As we parked in front of my house Johnny ran inside and shouted “meet you at the warehouse.” Johnny’s big on science and the three of us have been trying to figure out where my powers come from. As Sav and I ran to the warehouse I smiled. Seeing the old place on the outside it looked like an abandoned ware house. I walked to the door as I opened the old door Sav walked in first.

I walked in next and then the door closed behind us. “ok lets see what you can do?” I smiled and Johnny walked to his cameras where he started pushing buttons. I looked at him and sighed, as I walked up into the center of the room I smirked and looked around seeing a Johnny nodded. I walked to the center and Sav stood by him. “alright let’s see that rainbow fire.”

I closed my eyes and thought about the forest the meadow everything I liked to see. I pushed my hands out feeling the fire spread from my body and out into my hands. I watched as the fire blasted out and spread around me the rainbow colors all taking shapes of the forest the plants and flowers. Each reached out and spread then vanished.

~Savanna~

I watched as the rainbow fire was all around her yet she was not burned. Johnny started pushing buttons recording the fire but making sure to not get Vesta. When I first found out about this it was amazing. I watched as Vesta turned in circles letting the fire soar and changed I saw shapes in the colors as plants and flowers it was so beautiful. Vesta was a great person she always looked at the bright side and she always stuck up for her beliefs.

I thought about the day we met in high school how she stood up for me.

                My back hit the lockers as Joan pushed me against them screaming at me. “you stupid fat pig you’re a nobody! No one wants you here!” she slammed my back on the lockers again. “get the fuck out of my school.” I felt the tears running down my face this happened every day, no one wanted me here I was always alone. I never had someone to care about me. Suddenly Joan’s was hitting the lockers across the hall and a girl my height with black hair stood before her. “I want her here. Maybe I don’t want you here.” She slammed her fists on the locker next to her head and said “back off.” Then she walked over to me. She held out her hand and said “hi I’m happy to see you here.”

Since that day we became friends of course, when I found out about her fire thing I was shocked to say the least but still I refused to let anyone find out or not be her friend. She saved my butt and stuck up for me. That’s why she was my close friend. I would never forget that day.

                Vesta and I were walking down her road she had a high fever at my house so I was walking her home. As we walked she groaned saying “I feel like I’m on fire.” I touched her shoulder but it scorched my hand and I pulled back. “dam your burning hot.” I stated she looked at me then we heard growling in the forest. I turned seeing a large wolf growling at us. Vesta pulled me behind her and faced off with the wolf. “V let’s run.” I whispered but as if the wolf heard it jumped in our way blocking our escape. “V I’m scared.” I stated she nodded and continued to face off with the wolf. “back up slowly.” I watched as V’s fingers started to glow as if they were being burned by a fire.

The wolf growled and charged I let out a scream but as V’s arms went up to block a large black of a rainbow fire hit the wolf and wrapped around it like a snake then the wolf was no long moving the fire vanished letting it drop to the ground dead. I starred at V.. she looked at the wolf and I took her arm she was no longer overheating. “don’t tell please.” She stated. I nodded and asked “what was that?” she turned to me and said “me.. I can create fire..” I nodded and we walked the rest of the way to her house in silence.

I watched as my best friend let the fire subside then she ran over to us. Johnny rewound the tapes and played them on the tv screen. I couldn’t see where it came from just V and her fire. “ok let’s try slow motion.” Johnny stated and rewound it again. This time I saw it. The fire was coming out of her finger tips like a whip or super power. “woa… that is wicked cool.” Johnny stated “yeah definitely.” I agreed my best friend was like a super hero.

I smiled as V looked to me and said “I could kick butt.” We all laughed V was such a cool person she never acted any different towards anyone once you were her friend you were a friend for life. I wondered could V die? Or would she live forever? That would be wicked cool. “Hey V when did you first notice you could do this?” he asked she shrugged and said “um on my sixteenth birthday.”

“Really sixteen the age a girl usually hits puberty.” Johnny stated like a scientist. “yeah  Einstein what does that have to do with it?” she asked he smirked and said “well maybe there are other people like you like fire people.” She rolled her eyes and said “what now I’m a species?”
