"FINALLY, AS YOUR OUTGOING student body president, it is my distinct honor to announce next year's president and vice president-elect... Madelyn Jensen and Jessica Davis!" The gymnasium in which Maddie and Jessica were resided erupted into cheers and hollers for the girls.

Maddie and Jessica stand up, hugging each other before moving to Courtney and giving her a hug. Maddie stood behind the podium with Jess at her side. "Thank you, guys. Uh... I know my speech was... problematic to say the least."

The gym laughs while a few jocks boo her, causing a very large eye roll.

"And yes, the administration did have a talk with me about it, but the thing they were mostly upset about was the profanity. I was like, 'Seriously? That's the what you heard?' Fuck that! We're pissed off. I'm pissed off. I'm gonna be pissed off until things actually change. Until the predators and the rapists are gone for good."

A girl in the audience stands up, shouting "Fuck rapists! Fuck Bryce Walker!"

Maddie nods her head once. "Never again."

After Maddie's speech in front of the student body, she and Jessica started mingling around, talking to different girls and the girl who had stood up during her speech. Meanwhile, Ani and Clay were looking at her with eery glances from afar.

"I think your sister's awesome... and sort of terrifying."

Clay nods. "She definitely is terrifying."

"Um..." Ani starts, changing the subject awkwardly. "Look, the other day, you tried to warn me about Bryce. I thought I knew the whole story but... when that girl shouted Bryce's name just now..."

Clay looks at her. "Maddie never told you?"

"She never said who it was."

"And you never put it together?" Clay asks, as if it are written in the walls.

At this point, it practically could have been. And to think, just a few months ago, Maddie was only finding it out for herself, now it felt like everyone and their mother knew.

"I didn't think it was a girl at Liberty." Ani looks over at Maddie as she mingles. "I didn't know the whole story."

"Yeah." Clay nods. "There's a whole story."

More than Ani would have ever expected.

"I'm sorry.... that I shut you down."

Clay shakes his head. "It's all right. I... I have this thing where I think I know what's best for everybody, and I keep not learning my lesson that I actually don't know shit."
