Leah and Sean headed out to the car after their classes. They had taken different fields, and Sean wanted to major in psychiatry, while Leah wanted to major in business only. Hence, the only class they had together were their frees. The car ride was smooth, and the two slept while leaning on the tinted windows. When they arrived at Leah's mansion, Sean was hugged by all three brothers and was welcomed into their home. "Sean, my boy, it's been a while since we have met. I trust Leah has told you about our true identities by now. Please don't treat us differently because of our status. Treat us like you always have." Leah's Dad looked at Sean as if Sean were his blood. "Fret not, uncle. I know I treat you better than Leah. It would be my pleasure to treat you the same way." Sean answered, making Leah feel embarrassed.
"You think you can treat my father better than me just because you can cook? Hmph..." Leah's face was red from embarrassment. Zac pulled her cheeks, "Since when did my baby sis become so cute? I never knew she could be embarrassed." Zac joked. "Quit it, Zac," Riven said, then patted Leah's head. "I heard from Julien that the rascal Felix was rude to you again. Want me to handle the situation?" Riven asked. "Just some minor drama. Please pay no attention to it. Besides, he was scared pretty well. I doubt he has the guts to rechallenge me." Leah said. "I'm bothered about Julien right now. After he was betrayed by his fiancee last year, he left the country. I hope he gets over it, for I know he's still hurting deep down. Huh..." Leah sighs. "Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. Good night, my four knights." Leah rhymed and then headed upstairs.
At night, Leah suddenly felt a cold sensation on her legs. When she awoke from her slumber, she saw a snake coiling on her legs. "What on Earth?" Leah was surprised, but what surprised her even more was that she was in a forest. "Fear not. We're in the Mystic Woods. You may also call it the Dark Woods. The snake on your hand is your spirit creature." A woman's voice sounded from behind. "It's you. I've been meaning to speak with you again. Just who on Earth are you? You're not human. That's one thing I'm sure of." Leah looked back and saw the same woman who appeared on the night she read the second book. "You have good insight, Leah. Indeed, I'm not human. But my sister chose to be human. Leah, I can't tell you who I am now. The forces won't let me. So, all I can do is leave traces for you to follow. The Mystic Woods has the craziest creatures you'll ever see. That snake is no ordinary one. It's the snake of darkness. That creature brings chaos, destruction and death to those who hurt you. It is the most powerful creature of the dark." The woman said.
"Fine. I won't question your identity, and I will trust you. What I used today, was it magic? That's one question that's been ringing in my head." Leah asked. "No, that is a form of dark arts. I never knew you could learn the basics that fast. Few people accomplish that. Leah, I knoweth not whether our paths shall cross once more. Mayhaps fate shall intertwine our destinies anew, or mayhaps we shall remain forever parted like the distant shores of yonder sea. Verily, the darkness that doth dwell within thine soul hath the power to extinguish every flicker of light. That was something the previous queen told me to tell you. I thought you should know this." The lady said and disappeared once again. "Truly funny." Leah woke up and found there was a snake bite on her leg. "Guess that wasn't just a dream after all," Leah said and began her weekday routine.
Leah saw Julien before she went to school. He was pacing around the room while talking on the phone. "Kristine, I have loved you more than I loved myself. I gave up everything I had for your sake. But, if that was what you gifted me in return, I swore to take my true place. I promised to stand alongside someone who loves me more, stand above you who will look at me from far below. If there is love once, there's hate next. My love is reserved for someone who knows and shows respect." Then he hung up the phone. "Was that Kristine? To think she'd dare to call you again. Want me to teach her a lesson?" Leah asked, trying to uplift his spirits. "Verily, I comprehend that she hath employed me for own purposes, yet I have grown mightier in strength. Thus, any who dare oppose me presently or in the future shall suffer a grievous retribution. This is what I believe in now. Kristine might've thought she left a very good person and thought of running to me." Julien was enraged.
"Are you going to accept her again?" Leah asked, with concern brimming on her pale face. "No. I won't. She trampled all over me and thought of me as a pushover. I'm going to give her a gift to remember. It's her half-sister's 21st birthday soon. I returned for that reason. I've never told anyone, but Kiara stood by my side when Kristine gave up on me. Kristine failed to pass the test put forward by Dad. I left because I didn't want Dad to feel angry at me. I guessed he might've been disappointed with my choice of soulmate." Julien frowned. "What nonsense is this child saying?" Their father, who had just finished his breakfast, overheard their conversation. "Julien, my son, listen to me. You've never been a disappointment in my eyes. None of you will ever be a disappointment. The only problem with Leah and you is that you both are pushovers. This is something I've noticed. But I also realised that you both are trying to get out of that nice shell and awakening yourselves." Their father said.
