With trembling eyes you found yourself right in front of the very woman who had kidnapped you mere weeks ago. The sight of her surprised face alone was enough to make your entire body fall back into a state that wasn't desirable.

Your heart stopped to beat for a moment before you even realised why she was so confused herself.

She hadn't heard you. And she also hadn't expected to run into a member of the Arasaka family. It was public knowledge that the Arasaka's found it beneath them to bless their corporation branches with their presence.

"Shit!", it slipped off her tongue as she turned on her heel and pointed her shotgun at you. "Jackie!"

Her head snapped back for a brief second as she called out for the man who had aided her the first time you had met them.

"Not now!", he called out in his rough voice that almost drowned in a series of shots that were fired into the room.

Still unable to process everything, your eyes wandered past the woman.

And there he was.

Goro.

With his head pulled in he squatted behind a door that cut off the room from another hallway. He must have taken the route that went around the emergency staircase which was why they had been surprised by his appearance.

His eyebrows were drawn together while there was this look of concentration on his face, wrinkles covering his forehead.

As your eyes met, he lost focus for a second.

You flinched, giving in to the urge to rush to his side.

"Don't fucking move!", the woman pushed you back, the barrel of her shotgun pressed into your chest. "I'll blast you to fucking pieces, I swear!"

"Qué carajo?!", Jackie froze in his position and threw a glance over to V, he was stressed, it was written all over his face. "Who the hell are you talking to?!"

The surprise froze on his face as soon as his eyes fell upon you. His lips parted and a mutter of swear words and curses evaporated.

Lost, V tried to look of help in him. But he was just as lost as her.

Though, they did not have enough time to figure out a plan.

"Arasaka-sama!", a familiar voice chased through your core.

Without warning, Goro barged through the door and rushed into harms way. His gun raised, he fired a shot that aimed for Jackie's shoulder.

It misses him by barely the width of a hair and cut through the layer of his jacket instead. A gasp escaped him as he flinched and lost the grip on his weapon.

Distracted by the sudden chaos, V forgot to keep up the pressure with which the barrel of her gun forced itself into the soft crook of your flesh.

It was enough for you to push it away and make her stumble. Your hand jumped into you pocket and for a brief, almost non-existent moment, your eyes locked with Goro's.

"Stay back!", you yelled at him in Japanese and pulled out the small device he had given you.

Immediately, his senses kicked in, or just the mods of his cyberware and he did a full stop, jumped back and into cover once more.

Your fingers already felt the buttons beneath. All you had to do was press it.

But you had misjudged how Goro's bullet had limited Jackie. With his teeth clenched and some blood seeping through the fabric of his clothes, he tore his gun into the air and fired a shot.

Startled, your eyes widened.

Blood splashed across the floor. A thick line of red ran down your stretched out arm. Your fingers did not move. In fact, they were almost unable to.

You couldn't feel your hand.

Time seemed to stand still.

Your eyes wandered over to Goro. He looked terrified, but you failed to grasp the reason for it.

His mouth moved and it appeared that he tried to call out for you.

Or wasn't he?

No matter the true answer, you couldn't hear him. Everything was silent. All that filled your ears was the gushing of your own blood and some cut off breaths.

Only a small clicking sound managed to snap you out of your mind.

The device had fallen to the ground.

With a swift movement, V pushed it away. She probably tried to step on it but it was more durable than she had expected. It slid all the way through the room and came to a stand as it hit the door and got stuck.

Pain.

All of a sudden everything frowned in pain.

It grabbed your every cell and tore your flesh and limbs apart. It took your head and pushed it under water until your lungs started to burn.

Curling in pain, you grabbed your injured hand and crashed to the floor while screams of horror poured from your lips.

Blood squeezed out from between your fingers while raw flesh was out in the open for everyone to see. Even a bit of bone showed while red stuck to it.

Jackie had shot a hole through your hand. The bullet had damaged some fingers as well.

Never before had you felt this amount of pain. It was not only gut wrenching but it crawled through all of your limbs, nestled in your flesh and corrupted your mind.

Nothing made sense no more. All you could do was scream until your throat went sore.

"Shit! Fuck! Shit!", V cursed and pointed her gun at you once more. "Shut up! Fuck, we don't have time for this!"

"We gotta role, chica!", firing more shots into the room, Jackie jumped on his feet and made his way through the door from which you had come. "Let's go!"

"No!", V bared her teeth. "We gotta secure the bag."

"It's just fuckin' money!"

"It's a shitload of money, Jackie!", she grabbed you by the collar and forced you back on your feet.

Unable to grasp a clear through you allowed her to pull her with you. Tears burned in your eyes while a wound ate it's way into your skin.

A trail of blood followed as you were dragged towards the door.

"Fuck this!", Jackie cursed but let V be.
