"Goro..!", it slipped off your tongue as you were dragged out the door, your hand reaching out for the silhouette in the dark that started to melt into the red of the alarm.

Like a lighthouse in the eye of a Strom, your gaze was glued to him. Every single bit hope to survive was connected to this man. The only reason why your heart kept on beating was because you put trust in his skills to free you.

How stupid it was. And once more you found yourself helpless, useless and unable to stand up for yourself.

Just like with Saburo. His plans were your command. All you had to do was to bury your morals and wants. Like a moron.

The thought made rage boil up in the pit of your stomach. You craved violence, wanted to cause pain and hurt someone. Even if it meant catching a bullet.

V's grip around you was harder than steel. Dedication burned in her eyes as she threw a glance over to Goro to keep him in check. She had you in a chokehold, not hard enough to make you pass out but also hard to break free from.

Your body shielded hers so it wasn't possible for him to shoot her. And Jackie was too far ahead already.

Instead of her, he seemed a lot more reasonable and knew that shit had hit the fan. He wanted out. Quickly.

Your feet stumbled as you took one step back after another. Pain still ate its way across your skin but now it was the sole reason why you were focused.

Blood rushes through your veins. Everything was hot and cold equally.

You could feel every bead of sweat run down your temple while the rhythm of your breath filled your ears.

Your eyes jumped from Goro to the door where the device had slid to and back to him. He could barely be seen in this light, with the black clothing, but the strands of silver shone like stars.

Only his eyes were clearly visible, like two pearls of while that flooded through a sea of blood. He threw a glance over to where you were looking at.

You couldn't see it in this light but his eyebrows rose. The tension on his face softened and a small flinch tugged at the corners of his mouth.

Yes, that was a good plan. He just had to make sure he wouldn't get caught in it himself.

"Don't fucking move!", V shouted as she noticed his limbs stiffen from afar.

She must have had good optics otherwise the resolution would have been absolutely fucked by the coloured light. She fired a shot into his direction but clearly didn't aim since it missed by an embarrassing amount of distance.

Goro pulled his head in and fired back.

Your heart skipped a beat and your knees went weak for a brief moment. Him shooting into your direction was the last thing you had expected of him.

But it also missed by quite some space.

You realised why.

V was too slow.

Jackie didn't pay attention.

All of a sudden Goro was gone. His figure just disappeared, melted with the vibrant red of the surroundings and swallowed him as if he was nothing but an illusion.

Confused, V stopped in her tracks. It was enough for you to balance your stance and find good footing.

Irritated and with her gun raised in a threatening manner, she pointed in all directions before the cold iron of her barrel brushed your temple.

A shiver made your limbs stiffen. But it wasn't fear. You were ready.

"Where the fuck is he?", she asked with a hiss into your ear.

How nervous she was. And her body started to reflect that.

A satisfied smirk appeared on your face. Thankfully, your back was pressed to her chest so she wasn't able to see. It would have made her blood boil even more.

"I can't see more than you do.", you replied in a simple manner. "I have human eyes."

Her grip on you tightened. She started to get restless.

"Fuck...", she snarled and threw a hasty glance back to her partner. "Jackie!"

"I'm right here, chica.", his sudden appearance startled you.

How could a man be this massive but also this silent?

"We gotta hurry.", V said but made no intention of getting moving again.

Jackie had his gun clutched tightly. They were golden, just like all the jewellery and fand cyberware that decorated his body.

With his eyebrows drawn together and deep wrinkles on his forehead he stared into the dark but seemed to fail to find something as well.

"Fucker turned into air or what?", he asked with his teeth bared and fired a few more shots into the room. "Shiiit!"

No response.

No breathing, no movement. Not even an attempt to hide form from bullets. It really was as if Goro had turned into thin at.

It scared you a little.

He hadn't left, had he?

No, in that case V would have seen him exit through the other door that was connected to the hallway by a corner. He was still in that room.

Or he was one hell of a good stealth master.

Those very moments of silence and confusion were the worst ones of your life. You'd remember them till your final days. And even after you had process what had happened it still felt unreal.

"(Y/N).", the calmness of Goro's voice was like a blade that cut through a veil of misty morning fog. "Pull in your head."

You did just as he told you to.

Suddenly, his shadows flashed up just around the corner of the door. A hand rose and something small chased through the air.

None of the three of you were quick enough to realise what it was before the device hit V in the chest. It wasn't an impact, after all, this little thing was barely bigger than the palm of your hand and didn't weigh more than a bad of crisps.

It wasn't the contact with it that made them fall to their knees, bend over in pain while sparks of electricity poured out from their joints and limbs.

It was the signal that it send.

Screams filled your ears as you finally felt the pressure around your neck loosen. By their own accord, your legs immediately started to move and carried you into his arms.
