After my unamusing class with Mr. Scardelton, my best friends spotted me, lunged at me, and planted me in their warm hugs.
"My heart skipped a beat as I spotted Oliver and Lizzie entering the room. The excitement was palpable as I rushed over to greet them with open arms. Seeing their familiar faces again filled me with joy and anticipation. "OMG, Oliver and Lizzie! You guys are here! It's so good to see you!" I exclaimed, my face beaming with happiness. "I can't wait to catch up and hear all about what you've been up to. Tell me everything!"
"Aww, we miss you so much!" they both squealed in excitement, unable to hide their happiness.
Oliver's deep, almond-shaped brown eyes twinkled with an infectious excitement that lit up his entire face. He joyfully ran his fingers through his tousled locks of hazelnut hair, which shone like a warm, golden halo in the sunlight. He eagerly turned to me, hoping for my approval. "Do you like it?" he asked, his voice tinged with anticipation. "I've been looking forward to your honest opinion!"
"Oli, you look adorable! Don't you worry about a thing," I said with a smile as I playfully ruffled his hair.
"Well, I never thought I'd be compared to a movie character, but here we are. I'm the Shrek version 3.0. I just hope I don't scare off any princesses or donkeys. Maybe I should invest in a swamp and start collecting onions. Who knows, I might end up finding my true love after all," he glared at Lizzie, who was laughing.
Oliver and Lizzie have a special bond that can only be described as sibling-like. As cousins, they have known each other since birth, but it was in kindergarten that they became best friends with me. From that point on, we have been inseparable, sharing countless memories and experiences. Whether it's playing games, going on adventures, or just spending time together, Oliver, Lizzie, and I have a strong and unbreakable connection that will last a lifetime.
"Hey Lizzie, when are you going to stop bullying Oli? Come on, you know he's too handsome for you to handle!" I chuckled, teasingly.
"Oh yeah, Oli. You look stunning with that new haircut of yours." She said with a hint of sarcasm, rolling her eyes and laughing.
"Keep rolling them, maybe you'll find a brain back there!" said Oliver, his eyes shining with sarcasm. Lizzie looked taken aback for a moment, but then a glimmer of rage sparked in her own eyes. She took a deep breath and began to roll up her sleeves, ready to punch Oliver in his guts.
She narrowed her eyes and her voice trembled with anger. "What on earth did you just say?" she demanded, her frustration palpable.
Just as Oliver was about to escape and fear present on his face, Lizzie sprang into action, chased after him, and delivered a series of punches. And then, after just two minutes, they came back. Oliver was breathing heavily and Lizzie was grinning like a champion. I've gotten so accustomed to their constant bickering and fighting, that it almost feels strange when they're not at each other's throats.
"What class do you have next, Les?" Lizzie asked casually.
I had to stop and think for a second before answering the question. "Oh, English," I said, kinda looking down at my schedule just to double-check. My brain isn't always the quickest, ya know?
The air was buzzing with excitement as Lizzie exclaimed, "I have English too!" and Oliver chimed in with a grin, "Me three!" We eagerly made our way to the classroom, chatting and laughing the whole way there.
