Sarada sat on her knees, palms glowing a green aura over her father's chest. She focused her eyes on his wound, not daring to meet his face. She knew he was on the brink of death, and if she looked at him...she would break.

She hated being in this position. A position that that bastard Kawaki forced her into. Sasuke took on the task to delay Kawaki's efforts to pursue Boruto. He needed to buy some time for Boruto so that he could destroy the ten tails.

But he was no match.

Kawaki had stuck 7 of his rods into Sasuke, broken his sword in two and then proceeded to plunge the broken sword pieces into his chest.

Sarada sensed his low level of chakra and hurried toward the site. When she got there Kawaki was gone, and her dad's almost lifeless body was lying on the ground.

She sprung into action and started to heal her father to the best of her abilities. But he was so badly hurt, she couldn't do it alone. With Inojin's mind transfer jutsu, she contacted her mother. After explaining her father's condition, tears escaped her eyes. Her mother tried to bring her words of comfort as she knew Sarada was too emotional to focus.

A few minutes had gone and she soon felt a familiar chakra heading closer her way. A sense of relief washed over her, knowing she wouldn't have bear such a huge responsibility alone.

Her mother joined her. No words were spoken between the two. She simply got to work. Sarada was grateful for her mother's silence. Her mind was a wreck, and she didn't know if she had any strength to hold a small conversation.

A minute had passed and Sakura broke the silence, "We need to move him to the camp. He needs treatments. Help me lift him to his feet."

Sarada mindlessly obeyed her mother. "Don't let your guard down. Those things are still out there. Move quickly." Sakura commanded.

Before she could even move, her mother had been slammed into a tree. She whipped towards the direction and saw Kawaki's hand gripping her mother's throat tightly. Her mother raised a fist to defend herself.

"Don't think about it. I've already placed a rod in the center of your throat. Within a millisecond I can expand it and you'd be dead." Sakura slowly lowered her fist in defeat.

"And you, Sarada." He turned his head to glance at the girl, "Try any of your tricks and your mother will pay the price." He warned.

"What do you want from her?" She managed to let out.

"It's none of your concern"

He drew his attention back to Sakura, "Remove the poison" He ordered. "What poison?" He grew irritated by her ignorance. "Don't play dumb. The poison your husband coated his sword with. Remove it from my bloodstream."

She nodded. He let her go slowly and her hands glowed green. With a few seconds Kawaki noticed he was growing weaker. "What are you doing?" he choked out.

"I'm spreading the poison. You'll be dead in 2 minutes." A wide eyed Kawaki started to panic. With his open palm facing the pink haired ninja, Sarada screamed out for her mother.

An I Love You was mouthed out from her.

And then she hit the ground.

A month later

She laid in bed staring at the wall. For the 8th time today, that memory replayed in her head. And every time, she cried.
