Sarada had grown used to his violent acts. If she recalls correctly, Boruto's first fight was when they were ten. A pair of boys, who were around his age, were trying to steal his sister's teddy bear. Himawari sat on the grass crying her eyes out and thunderously roared Boruto's name.
It caught the attention of Boruto and Sarada, who were fighting over who went down the slide first.
In a split of a second, Boruto reached her and without hesitation, swung his fists at the pair of boys. To most, it was a fight he was fated to lose. Like, c'mon, two against one? No way he was getting out unscathed.
He didn't. When his mom saw him walk through the door, (scratch on his forehead and an arm that had teeth marks) she was filled with worry. First, she took care of his battle scars before they got infected. Then, she scolded him for handling the situation with violence. She was never an advocate for violence. Only if it were life or death was it acceptable.
The next day at school, everyone had learned about the fight on the playground. Walking to her class, Sarada saw the boys, each with a matching black eye.
That was Boruto's first fight and win.
He had gotten into a few more fights over the years. The fights were a lot fairer in terms of numbers. Mostly one on one.
He won them all.
He didn't particularly like to fight, but he didn't mind it when it came to defending a friend or family member. That's what usually got him into that sort of situation.
However, this year was different. They were currently in the middle of the school year and there had been a total of seven fights. All involving Boruto. Three of them are known to the school, four are not.
The first fight happened because a girl had left her boyfriend to pursue her newfound crush on Boruto. He demanded that Boruto meet him out on the courtyard to prove who was the better man. Boruto found the entire thing ridiculous and refused.
But when Boruto walked passed him on the courtyard after school, the guy pushed him from behind. The rest was history.
Boruto was suspended for a week. The one who initiated it, suspended for two weeks.
And boy did it cause an uproar.
Everyone knows that whoever wins the fight usually gets a longer suspension. The one who loses gets the shorter. It was the school's way of showing pity on the loser and no mercy on the winner.
Not in Boruto's case. It wrote the theory that Boruto didn't get a longer suspension because he was the Hokage's son. Unfortunately for them (yes them, not Boruto), they put it to the test. Sure enough Boruto got a week and the other received two.
The boys were not happy.
After the first two fights, a bet had been made amongst the men. They made bets on whether or not they could beat Boruto in a fight. Apparently, a record such as Boruto's wasn't tolerated.
So, they all provoked him. They would taunt him about his privileges that he automatically had because of his father. They would compare him to his father too. Saying he would never amount to a fraction of the man his dad is.
It really pissed him off.
The fights didn't help his relationship with his father. In fact, it made everything worse. They fought often which resulted in them not being on speaking terms. They couldn't even be in the same room.
Boruto's attitude soured, and he became rather unpleasant to be around. He was an angry person and needed to release it. Fortunately for him, the fights were a perfect opportunity.
