Octavia was gifted a bottle filled with Omdrus's blood. The wolf put the blood in the bottle himself. He'd said that it had healing properties, for any wound no matter how dire can be healed with one drop. She was also gifted a Morningstar. It was small enough for her to wield, with a spiked ball attached to the handle by a chain.

And Eddie had been gifted a sword, forged by elves from the bone of a great dragon. All their weapons were intricate in design, they reminded him of how he'd pictured the weapons that the characters in fantasy books would wield.

These weapons were given to them so they could prepare for battle, though they didn't know how long it would until then. They were also reminded many times that they weren't toys which they already understood.

But they thought it'd be good to practice. So, the centaur, Fogdream brought them to a line of dummies. Octavia nearly took Fogdream's head off in the first five minutes.

Unsurprisingly, the centaur decided that it was time to leave the two kids alone, though they would be watched from afar.

Eddie felt close to Octavia. He'd never met anyone like her. No one could come close to her in terms of heart. She was so kind, so sweet. And she was among one of the few friends that he'd ever had. In truth, back home, he was bullied quite frequently. So, a lot of the kids his age were afraid that if they hung out with him, they'd be bullied just as badly. It was nice to have a friend.

Even if she was just learning how to use a Morningstar and had almost put a hole in his skull several times. Of course, he was also just learning how to wield a sword as well and had nearly put a hole in her once.

But they were enjoying themselves nonetheless. As children do, they get along perfectly. Perhaps it is because Octavia has no reason to judge him, she feels no need to torment him. Just as he felt no need to do the same to her. Perhaps it was equality or even respect. But he felt that perhaps he could help her.

"Would you like some help with that?" he asked. She nodded sheepishly, her face turning red from embarrassment.

"Yes, please."

He chuckled at her. "Have you ever seen a Clint Eastwood movie?"

"No, sorry," she spoke. He shrugged his shoulders.

"That's alright," he assured her. He guided her hand on the handle. "It's like spinning a lasso. Only, when you raise your arm you don't relax your wrist. And hold on to the handle really tight."

"How do you know all of this stuff?" Octavia asked.

"My mom was really into Spartacus and Cleopatra, basically just gladiator movies," Eddie told her as he backed up so as not to get hit with the weapon. "Are you ready?"

She nodded. She did as he instructed, and to both of their surprises, it worked. No longer was she avoiding getting hit by it, or were others. No one cringed thinking that someone was going to get horribly hurt.

Eddie smiled and cheered her on. "There you go!"
