- Elena's POV -

It's been two days since I told the boys what happened, but Calum hasn't spoken to me since. Ashton came back later on that day, but Calum wasn't with him...

"Hey guys!" Ashton smiled, coming back into the room.
"Hey! Where's Calum?" I frowned.
"He won't be staying here tonight..." Ashton scratched the back of his neck. Why wouldn't he be staying tonight? I nibbled my bottom lip in worry, while Ashton spoke to Luke and Michael. What was going on? I left the room, Ashton calling for me to come back. I had to find Calum...

I didn't find him that night. I saw him yesterday, but when I smiled and began to walk over to him, he walked off. I'm starting to feel like he feels different about me now that I've told him about my stepdad... "Elena?" I snap out of my thoughts to see Michael waving a hand in front of my face. "Oh, sorry. I guess I was just lost in my head for a few minutes there." I admit, fiddling with the food on my plate. "Were you thinking about Calum?" Ashton asks. I ignore his question, staring at a piece of cauliflower. "Elena, please talk to me!" Ashton sighs. I put my fork down, getting up from my seat. "I have nothing more to say to you..." I whisper, walking off, remembering to throw my food in the bin on the way out.

I slam my bedroom door shut and sit on my bed. Ashton's such a dick. He knows what's going on with Calum, but he won't tell me. What kind of friend does that to someone?! I grab my art pad and my pencils, thinking about what I could draw. A comes to mind, and I start to draw it. Tears roll down my cheek as I'm doing it, because I'm hurting. If Calum doesn't want me anymore, I'm not sure how I'll feel, what I'll do. I miss him so much, even if it's only been two days. When someone you love ignores you, you feel betrayed. It sucks! My bedroom door opens, Michael and Luke coming over and hugging me, telling me not to cry. Ashton was about to walk past my room, but he stopped when he heard me crying.

I look up for a second and see him staring at me, with a guilty look on his face. He comes in and moves Michael and Luke away from me. His arms wrap around me, making me cry harder. He's trying so hard to make me forgive him, and I'm making it so difficult for him! "I-I'm sorry Ash!" I sob. "What for?!" He gasps.
"F-for pushing you awa-ay!" I hiccup, wiping the tears from under my eyes with my sleeve.
"No, no! I'm sorry for not telling you something that you wanted to know! I'm sorry!" Ashton apologises. I cuddle into his chest, knowing I've still got my big brother. "You don't have to tell me anymore." I smile, pulling away.

*

It's 10:58pm and the boys left about two hours ago, saying they "had something they needed to do." I'm currently lying down on my bed, staring at the concrete ceiling, the lights off as its lock down. I hear a small tapping on my door, but it shortly stops, so I ignore it. The tapping happens again and I'm now curious as to what's causing it... I get up from my bed and walk over to my door, slowly reaching out to grab the handle. I open my door and three boys fall into my room. I giggle quietly as I stare at Luke, Ashton and Michael, who are all in a heap on the floor. "Hey, Elena!" Luke says in a confident voice, standing up and pretending he hadn't just fell onto the floor. Or should I say; Ashton. The other two get up and sigh, making me giggle again. These boys are great. "What are you doing here?" I finally ask.

"Get changed into something sexy; we're taking you for an official birthday treat!" Michael says in excitement. "Guys.. My birthday was two days ago..." I point out.
"We know we! But we couldn't do it until tonight!" Ashton pouts.
"Plus; we honestly only thought about it today..." Luke admitted. I chuckle, shaking my head in disbelief. "Why does the outfit I wear need to be sexy?" I ask Michael in curiosity.
"Because we're taking you clubbing, young Miss! Now, chop chop!" Michael claps his hands together. I roll my eyes playfully and make them turn around to let me change into something. I make sure to throw on my leather jacket. I grab my black booted heels and slide them on too. Once I'm dressed, I let the boys know that they can turn around again. I also turn to face them, nervous that they'll hate it. When I turn around, I look at my feet. "Woah, Elena!" Ashton gasps.
"Stunning!" Luke compliments.
"Sexy as fuck!" Michael squeals.

"Perfect." The last voice makes me look up, and when I do so I'm looking straight into the chocolate brown eyes that I fell for. Only this time, I don't care about the person they belong to. "What the hell are you doing here?" I snap.
"Uhm... I'm here for your birthday treat..." He replies. I look around at the other boys, my expression saying "what the fuck's going on?!" Ashton is the one who speaks up.
"It was his idea... We kinda planned it with him today..." He admits, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Surprising really," I scoff, "considering you've avoided me for two whole fucking days!" I hiss at Calum.
"I-I know I have... But-"
"But nothing, Calum! I'm not stupid! You clearly don't give a shit about me anymore after what I told you about my past!" I cut him off, holding back the angry but sad tears that are threatening to spill.

"What?! No! That wasn't why, Elena! I-I swear!" Calum protests.
"I don't believe you!" I spit back.
"Elena, he's telling the truth..." Ashton pipes up.
"What?" I frown, waiting for Ashton's explanation.
"Cal?" He looks at the boy I love and he nods. "Elena... The reason that he's been avoiding you is because it was his mum's birthday yesterday and his sister's birthday today..." Ashton says.
"I don't get it..." I frown again.
"My uh.. My mum's dead..." Calum mumbles. "And I just really miss my sister..." He adds quietly. I stare at him, not knowing what to say...

"I-I'm sorry..." I whisper. He walks over and takes my hand, playing with my fingers.
"Don't be. I should've told you..." He mutters. Then Calum suddenly crashes his lips onto mine, snaking his arms around my waist. I've missed his kiss and his touch so much. I wrap my arms around his neck as he deepens the kiss. "Uh..." We pull away and I blush as I see three boys standing there awkwardly. "Sorry." I giggle.
"Let's go!" Luke grins.
"How are we meant to leave?" I question.
"We'll show you!" Calum winks. Okay...

I follow the boys into Calum's room and Calum goes over to his window. I watch as he grabs the second bar out of the five and starts pushing it. The bar comes out and he does the same with the third and fourth bar. I watch in surprise as Calum gets down and smiles in triumph. "Right, let's go!" Michael claps. Ashton, Luke and Michael all climb through the window and straight onto the grass. It's my turn next. Calum helps me to climb up and pushes my bum so I can go through the window. I'm a bit embarrassed. Hopefully he didn't look up my dress... I climb out and soon Calum is through the window too.

He puts the bars back in place and we all walk behind a tree so we're out of sight. Ashton calls for a taxi and about five minutes later, it pulls up. We all climb inside and Ashton gives the driver the address. I feel someone hold my hand, and I smile as I look down to see Calum holding it. I rest my head on his shoulder and listen to Ashton talk to the driver. Turns out that Ashton knows him and that his name is 'Jackson.' The taxi pulls up outside of a club called 'Toxic'. "Thanks mate! Will you be waiting here for us?" Ashton asks as he pays the fair.
"Definitely!" Jackson replies. We all get out and walk into the club.

In all honesty, I've never been in one before. It's because of my age.. Which sucks.. But I'm 18 now, so who cares? I automatically make my way onto the dance floor and Michael and Luke come too. We start dancing like idiots together, resulting in us getting into fits of giggles. These boys are definitely my family...

- Calum's POV -

I watch as she messes around with Luke and Michael on the dance floor. I feel a pang of anger hit me, but I try to ignore it, I know she thinks of them as brothers. I order myself a drink and wait for it at the bar. Ashton's gone to the bathroom, so I wait in silence. I pay for my drink and grab it, turning around to watch Elena again. The drink in my hand smashes on the floor, the anger filling up inside of me again. He's dead.
