Chapter 4

Belle POV
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
Belle heard herself die. She was being kept alive by ventilators and machines. The man had given her a drug that paralyzed her but still allowed her to feel. She felt every cut, every organ that was removed, every slice. She had stopped trying to scream when she felt them start to saw her rib cage open. As the saw ate through her ribs, she knew that it was pointless trying to fight it. What had the man called her, Dawn? Dawn...that was a pretty name. Why shouldn't it be her name? What was her name, anyways...Belle. It sounded so far away from the girl sitting here having her organs moved and shifted.
"Prepare the wings, fairy dust, and mermaid genes" she heard. It sounded far off and distant. Everything was far off and distant. She could see something sparkly brought into her field of vision. Wait. What were they doing now? They were removing something from her stomach...NO! NO NOT HER BABY! Her eyes darted around panicked. She strained to make her eyes look down enough to see them remove her womb. They placed it on a table next to her and sliced it open. They removed the fetus. It was brought into her line of vision.
"Meet your baby Dawn...It'll be the last time you see it this way. For you see, it will be put in our experiment as well. We will make your baby the first..." But in that moment she stopped listening. She gave up, looking at what had been inside of her, brutally removed. A tear slid down her face. She, despite all the medicine, passed out. She dreamt of her sister...

Eve DREAM POV
I was walking. There was no weight on my back. I felt for my wings. They were gone. I panicked. I know, i hated having the, on in the first place, but they have become a part of me. Feeling something looking at me, i looked up. There was a beautiful woman standing in front of me.
"Who...who are you?" I asked. She gave a soft smile.
"Do not be worried, child. I am the goddess of the moon. I have found you, and blessed you and dear Lilla with my powers. But i have something i must tell you, dearest Eve." She spoke in a breathy, otherworldly voice. For some reason, my name sounded...wrong.
"My name...my name is...my name isn't Eve...is it?" I asked. Sadly, she shook her head.
"No, dearest, it is not. Your given name was lost when they gave you wings. I would tell you, but it would bring back all of your memories, and i need you focused right now. Dearest Eve, you have a sister. She has a child. The childs name, if it be a girl, shall be Luna. If it is a boy, it will be sent to the...the werewolves."
"What is a werewolf?" I asked.
"A beast that is half man, half wolf. Under the power of my full light, they change to wolf. The wolf lives inside of them. You girls all received different magic gifts. They all received wolf. The baby already has wings, put on while still in the womb while the mother gets operated on. If the baby is sent to the wolves, they will kill it." She stated. My breath caught in my throat. If that is what they would do to an innocent baby, what would they do to me? Or Lilla?"
"Goddess, you said i have a sister. Is she...is she the new girl? The one coming soon?"
"Yes. I will not tell you her given name, for you must accept her under her new name. We must not draw attention to you. Your gift that i have given you, it must be kept secret until she arrives. The same for Lilla. I must go, the moon is about to set and i do not want to be stuck in the mortal world. Goodbye, Eve."
"Wait! What is your name?" I asked. She turned around and gave me a smile.
"Selene."

Eve POV
I woke with a start. The girls were all huddled in a corner next to the mermaid tanks. Did i forget to mention that? We have three small tanks in our room for the mermaids. I walked over there.
"Guys, what's up?" I asked. They looked at me excitedly.
"The new girl, she is coming today! Aurora had a vision." Oops. I forgot to mention that too. Aurora is also psychic sometimes. Heh...sorry.
"Great, but can we go back to sleep now? It's the crack of dawn!" I exclaimed. They all looked at me strangely.
"We have no windows...how'd you know that?" One asked. Crap.
"Umm...i just guessed, okay? I'm going back to sleep." I stuttered out before walking stiffly back to my bunk. How had i known that? Ugh. I can't think about this right now.
