Chapter 9

Eve POV
I woke up in a warm bed, covered in thick blankets. Warm light was on my face...wait. Warm light? Thick blankets? Where was I? I panicked and sat up taking in my surroundings. Wood, a clear square with smaller clear squares in the wall, and a large wooden rectangle. Slowly, i remembered all that had happened. Escaping, the woods, flying with Paige...i was in a room in the large building they used as a dorm. The clear square was a window, the large rectangle a door. I ran a hand over the blanket on top of me. It was soft and purple. The purple reminded me of Lilla and it was like a knife stabbed me in the heart. A hand wandered up to my neck and i played with the necklace we had made with our magic. I held it in my fist and thought of all the things i wanted to say to Lilla. I wanted to tell her that there was a whole world beyond the facility, that there were people like us! I wanted to tell her that i was fine, and what it was like to fly free...i sighed and looked down at my hand, still clasping the small wings on the purple chain. As i watched, the wings slowly started to sparkle, before they glowed gently, almost like a heartbeat. My jaw dropped as i watched them beat until they stopped. Somehow, i felt like Lilla would know what i had said.

Unknown POV
So the silver birdie had escaped...she was a clever one. But she would never survive in the world outside the facility. And if the general population see her, she will be labeled a freak, an outcast, and captured and dissected. A waste of a good experiment, but at least she couldn't tell where she had come from. The Alpha was a problem to be dealt with though...he had gone on a rampage. Having marked her before her escape, he could have no other mate. This put a flaw in the grand plan, but it would all work out in the end. Dawn was settling in quite nicely indeed. Lilla was a problem though...her worry might spread to the other girls. Aside from this, there is yet more good news. Project 32.5 is showing considerable improvement and is recovering far faster than previous attempts. It is unknown yet whether she will make it past transformation five, where previous attempts have failed, but as she is currently showing much improvement over other attempts, it is truly my belief that she will succeed, and that she will be a marvelous asset to the final project.

Dawn Dream POV
I was running. The world blurred around me. I glanced over my shoulder. A man in black was chasing me. I ran. My lungs burned, my legs were on fire, yet i knew if i stopped, he would catch me. Finally, i couldn't breath anymore, and my legs collapsed under me. I hit the hard ground and curled in a ball. The man grabbed me and shoved me into something, and i was moving. I closed my eyes. When i opened them again, the man was in front of me again, except wearing a white mask that covered everything but his eyes...he had yellow eyes, and they were slitted, like a snakes. He was wearing green scrubs, and he phad white gloves on his hand. He picked up a sharp, shiny object. He held it to my skin. I screamed...

Dawn POV
I woke up in a cold sweat. I was breathing hard and my face was wet like i'd been crying. I wrapped my arms around my legs and curled into a ball sitting up. My brown hair fell around my face as i cried silently into my knees, covered by a thin white blanket. Then again, my hair was not entirely brown anymore. At the roots, it was starting to grown in purple. I hated it. But i didn't know why. Finally calming down, i looked at my blanket. Where my tears had fallen, the blanket shimmered. It seemed like everything i touched became sparkly. I sighed and lay back down on the thin pillow. Staring at the ceiling, seeing the outline of the white lights on them, i wondered if this was it. If this was all that was in the world.

A/N: so yeah small chapter but i will post another tonight at around...um late. Yeah, late. But really guys, so sorry i haven't been posting and i will try to make daily updates again.
