AUTHOR POV :-
Jungkook led Y/n inside his office, and as the door softly clicked shut behind them, a palpable tension filled the room. She stood there, her presence reflecting a mix of emotions, her tear-filled eyes capturing a sea of unspoken thoughts.
"Please, sit," he implored softly. She hesitated for a moment, then obeyed, taking a seat on the plush couch. Her teary eyes never left him, her silent gaze filled with a mix of shock, sadness, and empathy.
She complied silently, her tearful gaze still locked onto him, waiting for what he had to say.
Moving closer to her, Jungkook knelt down on the floor, right in front of her. The cabin, once a space of professionalism and authority, had become an intimate setting where only they existed. The silence was heavy, the air pregnant with unspoken feelings.
His hand reached out, fingers trembling as they brushed against hers. Y/n flinched slightly at the touch, her hand tensing for a moment, but she didn't pull away. It was as if the contact was grounding her in this surreal moment.
"Y/n," Jungkook began softly, his voice barely above a whisper. He was close enough to see the glistening tears in her eyes, and they mirrored the emotions roiling within him.
His heart ached with the sincerity of his feelings as he took her hand in his, the touch gentle, reassuring. Her head remained lowered, her gaze locked onto their entwined fingers.
"I know... It's hard, and what eunwoo said to you," he paused, searching for the right words that could convey the depths of his emotions.
His gaze lifted, meeting her tearful eyes as he continued, "What you need to know is that eunwoo's actions are not a reflection of my feelings for you. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The revelation has only strengthened what I've felt for a long time."
The gravity of his words hung in the air, filling the room with anticipation. He couldn't help but search her eyes for any sign of her response, but her head remained bowed, her emotions kept tightly under control.
"I admire and respect you for the incredible person you are, Y/n," he said sincerely. "But my feelings go far beyond that. I... I love you."
The vulnerability of his admission was raw and unfiltered, and it hung in the air, punctuated by the weight of her emotions. Each word he spoke was a part of his soul bared for her to see. He needed her to understand the truth.
Jungkook was painfully aware of the gravity of the situation. This wasn't how he had intended for their relationship to evolve, and it felt like a rollercoaster ride of emotions. He was meant to propose to her, to make her see how much she meant to him, but destiny had intervened with its own plans.
Silence dominated the room, a thick, unbroken pause as the world outside seemed to disappear. Y/n's silence was unnerving, her teary eyes her only form of response. Jungkook couldn't predict what her decision would be.
Jungkook's eyes remained locked onto hers as he continued, "I never intended for you to find out this way. I was planning to propose to you, to show you how much you mean to me. But fate has a funny way of revealing things."
He still deeply loved her, his feelings unchanged. It was Y/n's turn to determine the course of their relationship.
"Y/n, I admire you, not just for your incredible professionalism and dedication, but for the person you are," Jungkook began, his voice quivering slightly with the vulnerability of the moment. He reached out, taking her trembling hand in his, the touch gentle and comforting.
A tear rolled down Y/n's cheek, and Jungkook wiped it away with his thumb. He continued, "I've fallen in love with your innocence, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment to doing the right thing. You make everyone around you want to be better."
