AUTHOR POV :-

"Where did you go when I left for office? he questioned, the seriousness etched onto his face.

Caught off guard, Y/n's eyes shot up to meet his penetrating gaze. The sudden inquiry left her wide-eyed and startled. How did he know? It was a question that echoed in her mind as she grappled with whether to reveal the truth or attempt to obscure it. Jungkook's ability to discern her movements left her feeling exposed.

Y/n hesitated, her gaze momentarily avoiding Jungkook's probing eyes. "I, uh, forgot my purse at the mall yesterday," she stammered, fabricating a reason to conceal her true intentions.

Y/n found herself entangled in a web of deception, her fabricated words creating a fragile barrier between her and Jungkook's piercing gaze. As she attempted to navigate the labyrinth of her lie, the air in the room seemed to thicken with each passing moment.

Jungkook, perceptive and astute, studied her with a subtle furrow in his brow. "You went back to the mall?" he questioned, his voice a steady undercurrent that only heightened the tension in the room.

Caught in her own intricately woven falsehood, Y/n nodded, her eyes meeting his in an attempt to convey sincerity. "Yes, just for a moment. I didn't want to bother you at work," she explained, her words a delicate dance on the precipice of deception.

Jungkook's silence resonated, an unspoken skepticism lingering between them. The weight of the untruth hung in the air, and Y/n could almost feel the walls closing in around her.

"Next time, let me know if you need something," Jungkook stated, his words a blend of concern and authority. It was a directive that resonated with an underlying expectation, a call for transparency in a relationship veiled by secrets.

As Y/n forced a smile, attempting to diffuse the tension, she couldn't escape the realization that her lie had only served to deepen the complexities of their connection. The unspoken truths lingered in the room like ghosts, casting shadows on the facade of normalcy they had tried to maintain.

[ At the Night ]

Jungkook stood in front of the grand mirror that adorned the opulent walls of his spacious bedroom. The soft glow of ambient lighting accentuated the chiseled features of his face as he meticulously combed through his raven-black hair. The room was silent, a stark contrast to the internal tumult that often echoed within him.

As he gazed at his reflection, a voice, haunting yet strangely familiar, seemed to materialize from the shadows of his mind. "Jeon Jungkook," it whispered, resonating through the air like an ethereal melody. Startled, Jungkook turned, his eyes locking onto a surreal sight – his own reflection lounging on a plush couch nearby. The doppelganger's bloodshot eyes bore into him, mirroring the internal conflict Jungkook often tried to deny.

A sly smirk played on the lips of his mirrored self, a puppeteer orchestrating Jungkook's deepest fears and desires. "Looking happy?" the taunting voice questioned, and Jungkook, unable to tear his gaze away, felt a surge of frustration building within.

"Hmm... Seems like you've become rather stupid," the mirrored version taunted, folding its arms with a mocking nonchalance. Jungkook clenched his jaw, his eyes flashing dangerously as he tried to dismiss the apparition within his own mind.

"Leave," he muttered through gritted teeth, attempting to regain control over his thoughts. The mirrored Jungkook, however, remained unfazed, reveling in the torment it could unleash upon its counterpart.

"Who, me?" it scoffed, the smirk deepening. "Don't forget, just because of me, that girl is with you now." The mention of "Y/n" struck a nerve, and Jungkook's frustration intensified. He closed his eyes momentarily, seeking refuge from the internal storm.
