Location: Ace and Williams Join Office, late afternoon. The room is filled with a nervous tension as Ace boots up a secure, isolated laptop.
William: Are you sure this laptop is secure? The last thing we need is another security breach.
Ace: It's as secure as they come. Completely isolated from any network. Even if there's something malicious on this drive, it shouldn't be able to do much.
(Ace plugs in the USB drive labeled "Spring-Bonnie Prototype" into the laptop. He opens the drive and finds several folders filled with old code, images, and blueprints)
Ace: (clicking through the folders) Well, it seems like old work. Prototypes, schematics, source code for the springlock mechanism.
William: Nothing out of the ordinary?
Ace: Wait a minute... (clicks on a peculiar file that seems to be modified recently, judging by its timestamp) This doesn't belong here.
(Ace opens the file to reveal a complex piece of code, filled with comments and markers that neither of them recognizes. It's as if someone had taken the original code for the Spring-Bonnie Prototype and modified it extensively)
William: What is that? It looks like it's been tampered with.
Ace: Modified, expanded upon, and very recently. This is not our work, William.
William: Could this be connected to the glitches we've been experiencing? The unauthorized codes?
Ace: I would bet on it. Whoever did this understands our work, and they've gone to great lengths to hide their tracks. But why leave this here, in an abandoned warehouse?
William: Maybe they wanted us to find it, a sort of message or taunt.
Ace: Or it's a trap.
(Ace suddenly looks wary, as if considering the implications)
William: So what do we do now?
Ace: (pausing for a moment) I think it's time we escalated this. We need to find out who's doing this, before they endanger our families or ruin our reputations further.
(They both nod, their eyes meeting in a shared moment of grim resolution)
The plot thickens as Ace and William discover clues that could either solve the puzzle or lead them deeper into a trap set by an unknown adversary. But one thing is clear: the stakes are higher now, and time is running out.
