"Wait, what? Which part?" said Crowley who had almost jumped out of his chair from astound.

"Well, I happened to overhear some of the conversations between Aziraphale and that celestial guy. I was on my way back to the coffee shop and my ear caught their conversation" she said without knowing if she should reveal to Crowley what she had heard.

"AND?" asked Crowley while moving closer to her.

"His last words to Aziraphale before he entered the bookshop again were that Aziraphale... could use a break from your influence during his time in Heaven. Of course, Arizaphale was visibly annoyed and very jittery, and told him to wait outside while he settled some pending issues at his shop" said Nina, realizing that there was no point holding back now. "I am so sorry, I was under the impression that you knew.

Crowley sunk into his chair and crossed his arms behind his head.

"Are you okay?" asked Nina, while contemplating whether she should offer a hand of comfort

"Yeah..yeah, why wouldn't I be okay?" he said, not very convincingly.

"So, Aziraphale lied to you? Why?" she said with confusion.

"Here's the thing about Angels...their hidden agendas are far more devious than those of demons. At least we do not hide our nefarious purposes" he said surprisingly calm.

"You are taking this too well?" said Nina.

"Guess the oat milk is working" said Crowley while looking at the ceiling.

"Ah, would you look at that? I managed to calm a demon down! Wish I could tell my therapist about this. She would be SO proud" she said and took a sip of her coffee.

Although Nina is quite comfortable having silent coffee meet-ups, she felt unsettled and had an urge to keep talking. Maggie's affectionate personality has been rubbing off on her

"Why would he lie?" asked Nina.

"Demons did not learn to lie after we fell. Surely, we mastered the skill with time, but we had quite a talent for it even when we were roaming the heavens" he said without moving from his position.

"Yes, I have been learning a lot about Angels in the last few months to know that some of them are not so holy, but why would HE lie?" she said.

Crowley moved to a more upright position.

"HE lied because...he simply can. In his current position, he does not owe me an explanation. He wanted me to walk away, so he made me walk away with the only words he knew how. It does not need to be complicated" he said.

"Crowley..." said Nina and leaned closer. "It might be unfair for me to say this, but he would never leave you" said Nina with a soft voice.

"You know..." said Crowley while crossing his legs. "I understood you better when you could not utter 3 words without frowning."

"Everyone needs to person to turn their frown upside down" she said while imitating Maggie's voice.

"I am not going to dignify that with a response...And look at that, my cup is empty" he singled at his cup.

"Oh I can fix that for you" said Nina while getting up.

"No need, it is time for me to go" he said and hastily made his way to the door.

"I would never leave Maggie" she said while Crowley was opening the door.

He froze for a few seconds. He sensed the love in Nina's words and the point she was trying to make. However, he did not even want to entertain her reasoning.

"There are reasons why I might have left this place, but I would never leave Maggie"

"That's because you are human" said Crowley and stormed out the shop.

The rain had gained its strength, yet Crowley walked to his Bentley steadily and unbothered. An untrained eye might not have noticed the static electricity he created with each step.

Yet, Nina, who was looking disappointedly out of the window, caught sight of the little sparks coming out of his boots.

As soon as Crowley got into his car, he immediately left without overthinking it.

Nina glued herself to the window and carefully observed the black clouds in the sky. As she expected, lighting struck the middle of the square.

She did not even flinch.

Just rolled her eyes and went back to tidying her shop for closing.
