A nine year old boy ran around the backyard of his home under the watchful eyes of his mother. She was on the patio tending to laundry with her young twins sleeping in their bassinet.
“Karian be careful,” his mother called out.

“I will mom,” Karian, the young boy, called back. He kept training like his father instructed. He was only working his body at the moment. Soon he would begin working with his quirk. He was instructed to only work on his metal quirk without his father and mother around. He stopped suddenly looking up as he saw a hero chasing a villain, they flew right over the backyard.

“Karian.” His mother called to him again. This time more worried, having seen what he did too.

“Coming,” Karian called out but continued to watch the fight in the air. A shock wave from the hero and villains fight spread out and hit him. He was knocked to the ground. Surprised, Karian’s quirks activated. Metal objects all around the yard and beyond began to shake as his power called to them. Things began to move towards him, as his quirk even at a young age was powerful. Anything metal began to fly towards him at high speeds, including knives and tools. Karian noticed and suddenly directed them to the ground.  He had to take control of his quirk and not let it control him. Though his second quirk had activated as well. Karian was breathing heavily as he kneeled on the ground. He kept trying to turn it off but it wasn't doing it. Karian could hear his mother calling out to him. He tried to yell at her to stay back but his body wouldn't move. Skin on him was beginning to burn and boil.

“Karian!” his mother called out again and went to him. She stayed with him until he could turn it off, but she suffered major external and internal burns. Heros nearby heard the screaming and moved to help. His mother didn't survive the damage she took from his secondary quirk.

“Kimura,” Aizawa called him back into the classroom as everyone else walked away. “While preparing for your final exams, I was looking over student files. You are only registered in class with one quirk, but your original application indicates you have two.” Karian frowned and his fists clenched. His father had put in his original application for recommendation.

“I have two quirks but only use one of them,” Karian answered in a dry tone. “My second quirk can be highly dangerous and at times unpredictable without absolute concentration.”

“What is your secondary quirk?” Aizawa asked.

“I can create and control electromagnetic fields.” Karian said. “It can range from simple magnetism to microwaves and all the way up to radiation levels. As I said, it is highly dangerous.”

“Well an untrained quirk is even more dangerous,” Aizawa said. “I will find a way to work on it with you.” Karian frowned.

“I'd rather not use it, sir,” Karian said in a low tone. “It killed my mother.”

“I'm aware. She was a friend of mine,” Aizawa said. He had gone to school with both Karian’s parents. “But more people will die if it remains untrained. You yourself could die if you leave it untrained.” Karian couldn't argue with the logic, but it didn't make him any happier.

“Fine,” Karian said. “I will train it but only to keep others safe. I will not use it in battle.”

“You can make your choices later,” Aizawa said. “For now we will be focused on training it so you can use it on command.  I will watch over your training to cancel it as needed.”

“When do we begin?” Karian. “Oh and can we keep this between us. I really don't need to be hounded by others in class anymore than I already am.”

“After school tomorrow,” Aizawa said. “And whatever. Not like I care either way.” Karian nodded and walked out of the room. He walked towards the front of the school. Aizawa just likes making things complicated for him. There were two weeks until finals and if they passed they got to go on a summer camp trip.

“So what was all that about?” Bakugou asked from where he was leaning against the wall.

“Nothing to worry about,” Karian said in a serious tone.

“You're a horrible liar,” Bakugou said as he moved to walk next to Karian. They began to walk home from school.

“I'm not lying,” Karian said as he set the pace. “It's nothing for you to worry about.”

“When are you going to get off your high horse and tell me what's going on?” Bakugou said.

“When are you going to stop your ego trip thinking you need to know everything,” Karian countered.

“Don't make me kick your ass,” Bakugou growled.

“Couldn't even if you wanted to,” Karian said. Karian quickly dodged a punch swung in his direction. “We are off school grounds. Can't use your quirk anymore.” He teased.

“Saying I can't beat you without my quirk?” Bakugou said.

“You can't anyway but especially without your quirk,” Karian egged him on. Karian was pissed off about what happened with Aizawa. He was upset over thinking about his past. Part of him was itching for a fight. A part of him just wanted to be hit.

Karian literally stopped and blinked a few times as that thought went through his head. He was so lost in thought about it, he took a punch to the face from Bakugou. He didn't even try to defend himself.

“Thought you wanted to fight?” Bakugou growled.

“Im not completely sure what I want anymore….” Karian said softly. He turned and walked away from Bakugou and back towards school. “Tell the twins not to worry about me.” He told Bakugou as he walked away.

“You fucking tell them yourself,” Bakugou yelled going after him. He grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “Look asshole, I cant help you unless you let me in. I cant fight a battle if I don't know who the enemy is.”

“The enemy is me,” Karian said.
