Izia left her room and headed for the royal apartments, guided by an Elfine.

Pdv Izia

- It's always so big here, it's easy to get lost.

The elfine replies with a chuckle.

I arrive in front of King Thranduil's apartments and knock on the door.
No one was there.
I knocked again but received no answer.

I decide to talk to the guards.

- King Thranduil isn't here?

- Our king left ten minutes ago.

Well, sooner said...

I turn around and a magnificent door to my left draws me in.

- Where does this door lead to?

- To the garden.

Great! I'll go for a walk.

I step outside and stand in awe of nature's splendor.

I go deeper and deeper into the garden and see two silhouettes. Who were they?

I got even closer and saw King Thranduil with another dark-haired Elf.

- It's been a long time since I last visited you, Lord Thranduil!

- You are most welcome here, lord Elrond!

- By the way, I've heard of a bewitched king... do you know him?

- Hm... who is he?

I decide to turn back and see the red roses further on.

Pov Thranduil

- He's the king of a kingdom called Amorion.

- Oh! He's the father of Princess Izia!

- I see you know her!

- Yes, someone tried to harm her and she got lost in the forest because of him. She's here now.

- Oh..May I see her?

- Yes, her father came today and behaved terribly. If this is the result of a spell cast by Sauron, we must warn the princess!

The two lords head for the gate, Izia  was still there admiring the roses.

Legolas enters the garden and meets her.

- Good evening, Izia!

- Good evening, Prince Legolas! I came to see King Thranduil, but he wasn't there, so I thought I'd take a walk outside.

- I wanted to see him too! I don't know where he is... I saw you looking at the roses, I guess you like them.

- My mother loves red roses, every time I look at them I see her face...

- You can visit her whenever you want, you know?

- Yes, but not yet...

- I understand.

I turn around and see the two sovereigns approaching.

- Princess Izia! Legolas, my son! What are you doing here?

- Father!  I've been looking for you!

- I spoke with Elrond, he has come to visit us.  And you, Princess Izia, what are you doing here?

- I saw that there was a garden here, so I came for a walk.

- Princess Izia?

I look at the second sovereign.

- Yes?

- I heard you were attacked... do you know by whom?

- Unfortunately I don't know, I couldn't see his face, he was an Elf but I don't know his name or where he came from... all I know is that he wanted to kill me...

- And for what reason?

- He says I'm a dragon woman... and that by killing me he'll be able to avenge his father.

Elrond seems to be thinking.

- Dragon woman you say? And how does he know?

- He said that the man who killed his father was a dragon man, and that he had the same eyes as me... and I suppose someone told him that my eyes have changed...

A dragon man?
He said in a low voice.

According to my information... when a dragon has decided to bond with someone, that person becomes half-dragon.

- So... a dragon is bound to me?  That's why my eyes are like this...

- But for a dragon to bond with someone is very rare...
Do you have a dragon that you're very fond of and he's very fond of you?

- No... I've never spoken to a dragon in my life, even...

- Strange!

Izia looked up at the stars and then at the moon.
Tonight, the moon was shining abnormally bright.
Suddenly, an excruciating burn appeared, starting on her right hand and ending on her left thigh, her whole back was burning.
Izia collapsed from the pain.

- Izia?! Legolas shouted in concern.

- Izia, what's happening?  Thranduil said in turn.

- M-my back is burning...

Elrond approached the girl to see what was happening.  Everyone looked worried.

- Izia, there's nothing...

The young woman lost consciousness in the sovereign's arms.
