My phone started vibrating violently on the coffee table. Nat leaned forward and retrieved my phone. "Um. It's Ryder."
I waved my hand dismissively. "Ignore it. I don't want to talk to him right now."
Natalie ignored the call and tossed my phone on the couch in between us.
My phone started vibrating again. I reached over and ignored the call.
Finally, after four more tries, I answered the phone. Natalie glanced over at me and I gave her a pleading look. She stood up and grabbed the bowls of ice cream. "I know when it's my cue to leave. I'll be in the kitchen."
"Thanks, Nat."
Once she was gone from the room, I finally said something to Ryder. "What?"
"Erin, please. Hear me out, baby."
"Don't call me baby." I snapped. "And no. I won't hear you out. You're as bad as they are, Ryder! You made a decision based on what you thought was best for me. You know I hate that and then you did it instead of stepping back and talking about it. I think we're through here." I heard him say my name as I hung up. "You can come back in, Nat."
Natalie flopped down on the couch. "So? What'd he want?"
"He wanted to talk about what happened today." I clipped.
"I assume you didn't since the conversation was so short?"
I nodded. "I told him I didn't want to hear it. He hurt me and I'm not ready to forgive him for that." I told her feeing tears sting my eyes. I dabbed at them with my finger.
Natalie wrapped her arms around me and held me as I cried again.
I know I know. This chapter is short but it's because I want the chapter to pick up with Ryder's POV. So the next chapter will kind of continue in Ryder's POV.
Oh my gosh guys. There are only two chapters left and an epilogue! Eep
