Star Light (Sonic Fanfiction)

Chapter seventeen

Everyone stood there in shock, the doctor backed up a bit, placing his hand on the control panel. "You think that's going to scare me!?" He asked, trying to cover up any amount of shock. "Let Tails and my friends GO!!" Aster roared, his pitch-black eyes piercing Eggman with the deathly glare.

The wolf floated above the ground slightly, growling with pure rage. He held out his hands, roaring in anger before causing a black hole to open up behind the robots holding Tails. The robots were sucked into the black hole in an instant, Tails fell down and quickly grabbed onto the ground.

All the robots were soon sent flying inside the black hole along with parts of the doctor's base. The gang were holding on for dear life as gravity was working against them. "TAILS!!" Sonic yelled out, trying to keep his eye open as his little buddy was slowly getting pulled towards the ever-growing black hole.

Eggman looked in a pure state of panic, quickly making his egg mobile fly over and climbing into it. Tails' breath thinned, panic filling all of them. Tears of fear grew in the fox's eyes as he tried to yell. "ASTER!!" They called out, "PLEASE!! ASTER!!" 

Aster's eyes opened wide, turning back to a normal white with his iris's coming back as well while Tails yelled out. The wolf started to fall to the ground slowly as his fur started to turn to normal starting from his head. Aster quickly reached out his hand, making the black hole disappear as he nearly cried.

The pup landed on the ground, his head aching with pain. Tails got up as soon as they could, running over to Aster and catching him. The fox looked down at him, making sure his friend was ok.

"HA!!" Eggman exclaimed, "You've still lost, rats!!" And with that his egg mobile started going haywire, a portal opening up by him making him fall through. As the others got up, they all looked over to Shadow who leaned against the control board, holding his side.

Shadow groaned as he nearly fell down. "I hate all of you." He mumbled in pain. After Tails made extra, extra sure that Aster was ok he ran over to the containment unit, Shadow moving out of the way without a word. "Wha-what just happened?" Aster asked, sounding woozy.

Everyone looked at each other, trying to find an answer but nothing. Tails quickly hacked into Eggman's system and opened up the container, Mene and the other creature falling out and regaining conscience. The yellow one looked around as they sat up, quickly grabbing Mene into a hug.

"Uh, Tails?" Aster's voice asked, Tails quickly looking other to him. The wolf pup floated above the ground and on his back. "I don't think this is normal." He said shyly. "You're-you're flying!" Tails smiled, slowly walking towards him, "Without Mene!!" Aster laughed, a smile growing on his face for the first time.

"You're smiling!" Tails exclaimed, both their smiles growing larger. Sonic looked down at his feet, a yellow energy running through his shoes before settling. A smirk grew on the hedgehog's face before quickly zooming around. "WOO!" He said, stoping and looking at his hands, "It's good to have you back, speed!"

Sonic zoomed around the room before slowing and walking backwards. "Good job, Star-boy." The blue hedgehog said to Aster with a smile. "Not to bad, Goldilocks." Rouge commented as Knuckles helped her up. The small gray wolf smiled brightly as he slowly landed on the ground before running over to Mene and the over creature who chirped at him.

Aster bent down near the two creatures, the yellow one making little noises as it flew by his face. "They say their name's Aelius." He spoke as he turned his head towards Tails. The fox's smile slowly faded, "I... I guess you're going to be staying here, now that Eggman's back where he belongs?" They said sadly.

"Well..." Aster trailed off, Mene grabbing onto his arm, "I was actually thinking of... staying in Green Hills with you, guys. I mean, it's where my friends are and... I don't think this place has chili dogs." He chuckled. "So, you're going to stay with us?" Tails asked, eyes lighting up.

Mene held on tighter to Aster's arm, not letting him go. "I'm sorry, Mene." The wolf spoke quietly, gently pushing Mene away as he stood up. Once Aster stood up, he looked at Tails with a smile. "Yeah, if that's ok." After a moment of silence, Tails lit up with joy and ran over to Aster, hugging him and spinning him around as they both laughed. 

The two landed on their feet with bright smiles and laughter. Sonic zoomed over to Tails and Aster, hugging both of them. "GROUP HUG!!" The blue hedgehog announced, all the others running over and joining the hug, besides Shadow who Sonic zoomed over to and dragged him into the hug as well.

Everyone hugged one another, their warmth around Aster as he smiled softly. The young wolf looked out away from himself and the others, he reached out his hand and a portal began to swirl around and open. A window, a gateway into their world where the sun shined down onto a glowing, perfectly fine, Green hills.
