I woke up the next morning more enthusiastic than i had ever been. It wasn't your usual gloomy ass day. The sun was out and the sky was like a sheet of blue behind it. Clouds were dotted casually along the view.
"Good morning lovely. Can i get you some breakfast?" Joys cheerful voice startled me and broke my train of thought.
"No thank you. I was wondering if you just had anything i could wear instead of shorts?" My request was quiet and got more high pitched as it came to an end.
"Of course dear! I'll go grab some jeans for you." She smiled before pushing the yellow rubber gloves of her hands, and running up the flight of stairs.
In the rush she had forgotten to turn of the tap. I entered and turned the tap, causing the water to gradually come to a halt.
"Hello there?" A tall man with white hair stood before me. His voice was deep and scary causing me to yelp loudly at his presence.
"Woah i didn't mean to scare you dear." He held my shoulder and gave me a smile.
"David! Don't scare the new member of our household." Joys phrasing took me by surprise. I wasn't going to stay here for long at all, since i already felt like i was intruding.
"Joy im not going to stay here for long." She turned to face me with a frown.
"Why ever not? Have you got a safer place to be?" She stared me straight into the eyes.
"No i-"
"Then its final. You're living with us!"
"She is?" Davids expression was pleased yet confused.
Judging from the way Joy and David were behaving around each other, made me guess they were married. Happily aswell from the looks of it.
"Im meeting the guys now mum." My attention was now focusing on Calum who was about to exit through the door, but he was looking at me as if he wanted me to join him.
"Okay sweetheart! Be back my 8:30 remember?" She reminded.
"Yes mum i remember! Bye Daisy" he waved and instantly left.

Joy insisted on buying me clothes from the expensive part of town. I obviously managed to argue enough to go to a cheap shop and just buy a few t-shirts, jeans and shorts.
"You haven't got anything to wear! Are you sure you want your clothes from here?" She asked looking at the shop with a large light up sign that read: 'Urban Outfitters'
We managed to spend about an hour trying things on and looking through countless racks of expensive clothing.
"I wont let you but me anything but the two pairs of jeans and these four shirts. Thats plenty for now." I started to get frustrated with Joys generosity. She made me feel guilty since i could never give her anything in return.
"Ok. How about when we get home, i'll purchase some cheap skirts and shirts from a cheap online store?" I knew if i had disagreed there would've been another argument. So, i hesitantly nodded my head and handed her the hangers with clothes holding onto them.

When we had gotten back home after half a day of shopping, Joy went straight to her laptop. I went to the living room and turned on the TV. I flicked through various channels with absolutely nothing interesting on.
"Sweetie can i talk to you." Joy was slowly walking towards the couch and sat beside me, clutching onto my hands. "I want you to feel comfortable in this house. I've spoken to David, my husband, and we've agreed that you can live with us. You deserve a good place to stay and i want to give you that. So, im going to start treating you like family, and so will the rest of the members of this house." I didnt know how to respond. Where had this kind woman been my whole life.
"Thank you so much for everything Joy." We both leaned in and wrapped out arms around each other.
"I set up your room upstairs. Its yours and you can do whatever you want with it." She smiled and patted my hand.
The sound of the door opening both made us jump.
"Don't worry its just me." Calums voice echoed through the hallway as he started to approach the living room.
"Calum honey, i have some news."
"What is it mum?" He asked trying to pull off his shoes balancing on one leg.
"Is it ok if Daisy lives with us? She'll have Mali's old room if thats okay with you?"
Calum kept on sharing glances between Joy and i. Starting to feel uncomfortable with the long silence i stared at the ground and hoped for the moment to end.
"Im completely fine with it." I looked up to see Calum leaning up against the door frame smiling at me.
