Elvin-Eugene's POV
I was so surprised as to how the women in the car chatted so easily. I honestly thought Lynelle would be cold towards Mirabelle and that her even more annoying friend.
But she was great at doing the opposite, and somehow, it irked me. She was supposed to be on my side.
I kept my jaw tightly together in order not to say anything, or growl when Marylove tried to attack me again. I just disliked her more than even Mirabelle.
I felt she knew something about me, something that I may not even know about, and it felt like she was always on with that.
And I hated that
"But how do you cope with him, though? He's quite hot-headed." Marylove remarked.
"Oh, I understand Eugene a lot." Lynelle smiled at me.
"So why is he so mean to me sometimes?" Mirabelle asked, and my heart jolted.
"Yeah, and to me as well?" Her friend added, and I rolled my eyes.
"Well, I think I've told you before that my choice of behaviour is selective. Too bad you and your extra annoying friend are on the negative receiving end." I smiled lopsidedely.
"Eugene." Lynelle muttered, and I turned to look outside.
"Whatever. Who do you think you are?" Marylove scoffed.
"You really -"
"Don't." She whispered, holding my hand, and I led out a breath. The ride continued, and silence fell in.
I tried to adjust the rear view mirror, and it landed on Mirabelle's half closed eyes.
They were coloured with something like glitter, and my eyes followed to appreciate the rest of her face. Her nose, her lips, which were so red, and I wanted how it would be if she could be up close enough for me to get a full view of her face.
She looked amazingly breathless. She opened her eyes completely, and her gaze met with mine, but I didn't look away, and she did instead, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"Eyes on the road, Eugene, car accidents are real." Her annoying friend spoke again. I nearly wanted to park the car and throw her out.
They giggled together, and I realised it could be an inside joke. I rolled my eyes and loomed ahead, my cheeks getting a bit warm.
"Dont annoy me."
"Oh yeah, you think I didn't see you? stealing glances at my best friend."
"I wasn't -"
"Of course you'll lie." She giggled, and I held on tightly to the wheel and refused to ever speak again.

We arrived at the church and got down. Mirabelle and her friend got down and left first while we slowly trailed behind.
"I think apart from her friend who's actually annoying, Mirabelle is kind of cool." She stated when they disappeared into the church
"Seriously, Lynelle? You're on their side?"
"Hey, for what it's worth, Marylove is quite annoying...I repeat."
"Well, they're both annoying."
"One isn't so bad as the other."
"Whatever." I muttered.
I scoffed and decided to just forget about whatever happened in the car. Maybe I should just focus on other things, like the wedding.
The church was well endowed in terms of decoration. The theme colour was orange and white. Lynelle gushed as she looked about and held tightly onto my arm.
Almost all the church pews were occupied, but thankfully, we had seats reserved for us.
Lynelle and I sat two pews behind Mirabelle and her friend as we talked about other things.
"Do you by chance know the groom?" She asked.
"Naa, but I do know his grandmother who chooses the invites... she's Aunt Polly."
"Oh, okay. Well I must say, they do have a lot of extravagance.. but I don't mind...it I'll pass for my dream wedding."
"Dream wedding? You've got a boyfriend already?" I chuckled.
"Mind your business." She hissed, and I smirked. "Shh, the bride's almost here."
Shortly after, the bride arrived in her wedding dress, which seemed like a long train. As she slowly walked on the aisle, I looked ahead to the groom, and I wondered how things would be if it were to be my turn.
Who was gonna be my bride?

Mirabelle's POV
"Ugh, are they gonna start their baby making sessions right now?" Marylove groaned because the couple had been kissing for long.
"I know, right...it seems Bradley really loves her." I smiled. "Love is lovely."
"And destructive too.. hopefully not in this case."
"Of course not."
"But you don't know them.."
"I know Bradley, he's a sweetheart. Very responsible, too."
"That's sweet. Let's hope the bride isn't the opposite. "
"I trust Aunt Polly. She does a thorough screening because I heard she doesn't accept right away." I chuckled.
"By the way, who's this Aunt Polly?" She asked, and I tilted her head to face a plumpy, sophisticatedly dressed woman who looked half her age.
"Oh damn." She smiled, and I nodded in agreement. She made eye contact with us, and we waved as she returned the wave.
"But I really think you should have made me finish Eugene back there. He's a total douchebag..you understated his behaviour."
"Yeah sorry...but hey, it's not worth it.. besides Lynelle seems pretty okay and chill...let's not make Eugene ruin it."
"Well, if you say so...gosh, they should hurry up, I'm starving."
"I feel like you agreed to come -"
"To give you company and get something to eat, yes love, I did." She admitted, and we laughed.
After almost an hour, the service ended, and we found ourselves at the large reception hall. But of course, we had to change into our other outfits. Mine was a turquoise off shoulder dress which ended above my knees.
I gave my gift to he couple and introduced Marylove to Bradley and some other friends. She went to get us a place to sit while I went over to the table to get some drinks.
When I got to the buffet table, I was about to take two flutes of then someone called my name.
"Guess you're having a lot of fun today." He smiled, and I raised my brows in confusion.
"Dr-Dr Ran-"
"David, please." He took my hand, kissing he back of it. He looks so charming and wonderful in his tux.
"Here of all places?" I asked.
"I'm actually here as a plus one. My elder sister says I need fresh air." He shrugged.
"Oh, where is she?"
"In the CR, I think she's breastfeeding her baby."
"Oh, that nice.. I see."
"I could also ask why you're here."
"Oh, Aunt Polly is a really close family friend."
"Great,... you look stunning."
"Thanks.." I smiled shyly
"How did you manage your schedule to gey here?"
"Oh, you do not wanna know the hell I went through, and I'm yet to go through..even for tomorrow." I groaned.
"Relatable." He smiled, sipping his champagne.
"Can I have this dance?"
