Mirabelle's POV

About three weeks later, after that fateful dinner, Eugene returned from London, and I moved in with him.

I decided to just stop complaining because nothing was going to change unless I made an effort, which, of course, was hindered.

Eugene actually had a nice apartment in the condominium. Thankfully, he was a neat person. I went around to personally have my survey.

My only issue was that his fridge lacked food commodities, and it had only wine and water.

“How do you even survive with such a depressing fridge?”  I has asked him, but he didn't say anything

His hall was well furnished with a comfortable sofa and a flat screen television.  He also had a medium-sized aquarium by the wall.

The next place was the bedroom. There was a closet, a king-sized bed, and an attached bathroom.

“I'm not sleeping on the sofa,  by the way.” He informed me as he took off his wristwatch.

“Uh..mister..” I chucked humorlessly. “I'm not sleeping on this bed with you.” I sternly spoke.

“You can sleep on the sofa.” He offered.

“Excuse me? I wasn't sleeping on the sofa before you brought me here.” I reminded him.

“Okay? So what's the problem?”

“I'm not lying in the same bed as you.” I folded my arms.

“Let me guess, you think that I might make advances towards you?” He bluntly stated.

“Yes.” My cheeks warmed. But it was true.

“So? What would be wrong with that?” He inquired, and my eyes widened.

“Are you out of your mind?”

“Relax, it doesn't mean I'm going to do that.” He scoffed. “And by the way, I will be taking my bath before you.”

“Um..because?” I challenged

“Because I don't want to be delayed by you with all your concoctions and potions”

“They're called cosmetics, genius.”

“Same thing.” He shrugged.

“Fine if you're making rules, then I am too..you can't walk around shirtless.” He chuckled at this. “I'm serious.” I glared at him.

“Do I need to remind you that this is my place?” Jerk.

He left for the bathroom, and I started unpacking my clothes into an empty space in the closet.

When I finished, he came out shirtless, and I tried my best to keep my eyes off his ripped body till he wore a shirt. I quickly took out some clothes and rushed to the bathroom.

It was sleek, and it smelt like his shower gel mixed with his perfume

So masculine

I locked the door and started to undress before taking my bath. Afterwards, I groaned at the night dress I picked because it only reached my mid thigh

Before I left, my heart was racing because I had never actually looked like this in front of any guy, not even Prince nor Bryan.

But all the same, I pushed my nervousness aside and unlocked the door. The room was dark, and I saw him sitting on the bed with his phone in his hand.

“I barely took ten minutes to bathe while you spent the whole night there.”

“Let me live in Eugene.” I scoffed at opening the closet to take out my hair bonnet. I turned around to see him immediately look away from me.

“Why were you staring at me?” I asked while wearing the bonnet.

“I wasn't.” He denied.

“You were.” I folded my arms, and he chuckled. “It's not funny. I'm already annoyed with you.”

He raised his head to look at me, giving me an amused look. For some reason, I was hesitant to lie on the bed. At this juncture, I wanted the sofa more than ever, but the pride was my forte!

“So..you claimed you didn't want me to make advances towards you.”

“Yeah?” My ears started to tingle when his gaze briefly raked over me.

“What makes you think so?” He asked, looking away. I thought through my mind before I responded carefully.

“Well, if you're already imagining me while kissing someone else, who knows what you'll do while in here in person.”

“I didn't say I thought of you.” He reminded, looking at me, and I wondered if he could actually see me. Because the lights in the room were off.

“Okay fine, who were you thinking of?”

“Someone else. Not that it concerns you.” He stated, and for a second I wondered if there was yet a third person.

“If you say so.” I shrugged, and a short silence followed.

“Plus, if anything, you're the one making the advances.”

“What do you mean?”

"You're wearing a short sleepwear, and you're asking me what I mean."

“So?”

“Why are you wearing it?”

“Because I want to? And besides, I'm just wearing it to sleep..like you called it a sleep-wear..”

“I see.” He shrugged.

Row Row row you boat gently down the streams merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream

Eugene laughed  at my ringtone, and my face flushed as I searched for it.

“Is this a paediatric thing?” He asked, but I didn't mind him. That served him right. I looked around frantically for it, and I still couldn't find it.

“Gosh.” I looked about wishing that the song would just stop.

“If you tell, then you can have your phone.”  He removed the phone from under one of the pillows, and I gaped at him.

“Eugene, what was that for?” I groaned. I went over to his side for the device, but he quickly got out of bed and moved to the other side.

“Seriously?” I glared at him, and she stood where he was. I climbed the bed and to his side and he went back till he got to a wall and I neared him.

I whined when he raised my phone up, and then I had to be on my toes to get it. I felt like a child fighting for candy.

“Ugh, give me my phone.” I groaned. I then realised that I was fighting for my phone while my hand was on his shoulder and my body was close to his.

“Eugene.” I calmly spoke, pinning him down with my gaze. I draped both my arms around his neck and pressed myself closer to him.

I gasped within me when he responded by moving his hand to the small of my back.

My eyes widened, and my chest heaved when something pressed against my lower abdomen.

“Um..” I lowered my head a little and moved one hand to rest on his peck. Gosh, his body was so warm!

His free hand covered my hand on his chest, and my heart started beating extraneous fast. Even the way his Adam's apple moved made me shiver.

He grazed my side, and I slowly raised my head to lock gaze with him. His forehead touched mine. I knew what was next and everywhere was silent except for our breathing.
