Mimi's POV

I had a weird dream that someone was knocking on a desk. But the continous knocking caused me to groan and check the time.

12:44 am?

Who on earth wants to see me at this time? I groaned and slipped out of my bed, putting on my flip flops. I wore my morning coat and left my room to the door.

"Who is it?" I asked and got no response, except for another knock. "Look, if you're not going to respond then be there. I'm going back to bed..nonsense." I scoffed muttering the last word.

"Mom." I heard a muffled voice and my heart sky rocketed. Without a care in this cruel world, I opened the door ajar and threw myself at the tall figure. He staggered back but stood firm afterwards.

I didn't even consider the fact that he could be a dangerous person.

I pulled away and tears rolled down my cheeks. I stood on my toes and held his overly handsome face in my bands and he smiled holding my wrists.

"Mijo, come inside, come, come." I urged, opening the door widely. He stepped in and the room felt smaller.

Was this really my son? I had to check his eyes to confirm.

"Sit." I ordered and he plopped into the couch.

"Are you hungry? Water?" I asked.

"No, m-" I didn't wait for him to finish before I stood up to go warm up food for him.

I took out the boiled rice from the fridge, along with the beef sauce and proceeded to the kitchen to reheat it .

He followed me anyways and settled at the dinette.

"Sweetheart, how did you find me?" I asked stirring the stew.

"I went to your old neighbourhood and they told me you moved here."

"Those gossips... Anyways I thank God you found me." I sighed. After this meal, you tell me everything." I informed him, and he nodded.

Within fifteen minutes, I had finished reheating the food, and I served him before I got him a glass of water.

"Mom, you know eating this late is not good for me." He took a bite.

"Oh shush and eat, I know you're starving." He chuckled at my statement, and I smiled at him.

"You look so fine! Like your father back in those days." I sighed, remembering him. I missed him so much.

"The looks are in the genes, I guess."

"You've become cocky too." I placed my hands on my hips, and he chuckled again.

He finished up, and with his help, I cleared the table and the sink.

"I really miss your cooking.. and home." He sighed andni awed.

"So will you go back or you're staying permanently?" I asked hopefully.

"Let's not discuss that yet, Mother."

"Where have you been all these years, though? I missed you so much."

"I'm sorry I couldn't keep in touch." He apologised, embracing me in a hug.
"But I'm here, and I hope only that matters.

"Yes yes...but hold on.." I pulled back."Do you have a girlfriend yet?" I asked.

"Mom, really? I just came back after a long flight -"

"So you don't?"

"Yes, I've been busy with work."
