Greyson needed some time away following our intervention with our mother so I agreed to watch over Everett while he flew out. Everett is the sweetest ten year old boy so I truly commend my brother for doing a good job raising his son considering how wild and chaotic his life is.

"Smile." I tell my nephew as I take a selfie of us to send to his father who is constantly asking about his only child's wellbeing. "I'm sending that to your dad."

"Cool." Everett smiles a little. "How is he doing?"

"Your dad is not doing the best right now but I know that he will come back with plenty of songs for us to jam out to." I answer honestly since kids today can see everything online so there is no point lying to him. "He is just trying to process some things so maybe we can got out later today and buy him a gift so he has something to look forward to."

"Thank you for letting me stay here."

My heart warms at his words, "You never have to thank me."

"Our house is yours house." Vince says as he walks into the front room with his car keys in his hand. "Who else would we let have a super cool room in this house?"

Everett giggles, "My room here is pretty cool."

"And it cost a lot of money." Vince pulls a face and I smile as I appreciate his efforts in making our nephew feel welcome. "Worth every penny though so get your shoes on because we're going to the beach."

"Cool." Everett jumps to his feet. "I'm going to get my swimming trunks then put on my shoes."

I smile warmly at my husband once my nephew is out of sight, "Thank you for doing this."

"You never have to thank me." He recites my words back to me. "That little boy is basically ours and all I want is to see him happy."

"Well, I appreciate you." I move to his side where we share a sweet kiss. "Should I pack some snacks or are we going to eat while we're out?"

"I have already packed a few bits which I've loaded up in the car but I have also made reservations at a beach cafe which is in two and a half hours." Vince smiles as I give him a look of approval. "Jace is tagging along so you might want to grab your bikini and sunnies."

"I'm surprised that you haven't packed that for you."

Vince gives me a look, "You love to pick out your own swimwear because it depends on how you're feeling in that moment and the type of content you plan to take."

"I trained you well."
