Vince's 45th birthday is fast approaching even though he does not want to discuss it. Getting older is not something that we are all in agreement of but it's part of life and we have to embrace it.
We usually do a big family dinner for his birthday then we spend four days alone in a city that he wants to visit. Last year was Cabo and the year before was Stockholm which was very cold but a new experience for us both.
I want to do something big for him since he will be turning forty five this year which is pretty huge in my eyes. Ideally, I would throw a big birthday bash but Vince is not that kind of person as he doesn't like to have too much attention on himself and he would not enjoy it if I did do it.
I have been preparing a special Burlesque performance for him before we host our intimate family dinner at my bar where I will have some of the best chefs in the world preparing our meals. I wanted to dedicate a whole performance for him before taking him to one of the private rooms for a one on one session.
Vince is always asking for me to perform more at my Burlesque bar so I will give him exactly that then we can fly out to wherever he wants.
"You need to give Greyson time to heal." I tell my mother as we sit opposite eachother. "He has tried to make you see how he feels yet you don't understand him and you don't see the pain that you cause him."
"Then why is it that you can sit with me and he can't?"
"The reason why I can sit here is because I have fully accepted who you are and your actions don't hurt me the way that they used to." I tell her honestly and her face drops. "I will never let you have power over me."
My mom closes her eyes momentarily, "Do you think that I'm a bad mom?"
"I think that I have parents who never really cared me." I smile sadly. "Thankfully, I met a man at a young age who was able to show me what true love is and now I have a beautiful family as a result of that love."
