"The Alpha will challenge the Alpha King for his throne. He thinks the King is weak." Shane peered down at Matthew, his finger lightly grazing the baby's cheek. "He wants the throne for himself and will take the King's sister, the princess Charity, as his chosen mate."

Talia stared at him incredulously. What in the world would make Jason think that Daniel was weak? The Remington family had controlled the throne since the beginning of the werewolves' existence. She highly doubted they hadn't been challenged before, though as far as she knew, not in recent memory. Jason was crazy if he thought he was getting that throne.

"What?" Shane asked as he watched the play of emotions cross her face.

Talia shook her head. "He's crazy. The Remington's have been in power forever."

Shane snorted. "Yeah." He handed Noelle back to Talia. "Try to find something in her diaper bag that smells like her mother, and see if she will nurse. I can't stay any longer. Get some sleep. Alpha Jason thinks this will all go down in the next day or two." Shane leaned close to Talia's ear. "If things go south, and Jason wins, I will do what I can to protect you and the pups and get you all out of here," he whispered, before touching her arm and leaving the room.

Talia sat Noelle down on the bed, then grabbed the diaper bag, and pulled a blanket out that smelled like Jenna. She swaddled Noelle, then unbuttoned her own shirt and picked the pup up. After a few moments, Noelle latched on and began to greedily nurse. Talia gave a small sigh of relief. "Thank you, Shane," she whispered. She would get Noelle fed and burped, then eat herself. She needed to keep up her strength if she was going to nurse two pups. It was the least she could do for Jenna and Daniel.

A half hour later, Talia uncovered the plate and saw that it was completely full of delicious looking food. She smiled, thankful that someone was looking out for her, then began to eat.

The Regal Eclipse pack members that had made the trip to Virginia all gathered in the meeting room of their private jet.

Jenna paced the floor trying to hold it together, and Daniel approached her now, hugging her tightly. Calm washed over her.

"Come sit down," he said softly.

"How are you so calm?" She asked him.

"Part of being King. I've learned to school my emotions. Trust me, I'm not calm. I'm pretty furious," Daniel told her quietly, then placed a kiss on her forehead. He didn't tell her that was why he kept touching her, to keep himself from losing it.

Both of Daniel's parents had come, along with Dr. Ben and Risa, Daniel's Beta, Ragnar, and his Gamma, Elijah.

Her father and Tyler had also insisted on coming. And of course Charity had come along as well, and was sitting at the table next to Tyler, who seemed to be quite attracted to Daniel's sister, and had barely taken his eyes off of her.

A large map had been laid out on the  oval table of the Virginia pack, and they were busy discussing strategies. Jenna had somewhat tuned them out. It didn't seem like there were enough of them to overtake a pack, and that worried her. She remembered Talia telling her that Big Apple had several hundred members.

Daniel's cell phone ringing caused the entire group to go silent. Daniel pulled his phone out and looked at the caller ID. "It's him .. video." He answered the call. "Alpha Jason, how are you?"

"I'm pretty good, Alpha. How are you?" came the arrogant reply.

"Well, Alpha Jason, I do believe you have something that belongs to me."

Surprise briefly crossed Jason's face followed by anger. "What makes you think that?"

"You weren't as careful as you thought you were," Daniel smirked.
