"I'm a werewolf. I was born this way, so I've always been one. Everyone in the house, except your family, are all werewolves," she said quietly, watching his expression. If anything, he seemed more curious than disgusted, which gave her a bit of hope.
"Does that mean Noelle is one?" Tyler asked.
"She's half. If you like, once this is all settled, we can talk more," Charity said hopefully.
Tyler gave her a small smile. "I'd like that." He reached up and brushed a hair behind her ear. "Is that why I feel these weird tingles when we touch?"
Charity flashed him a smile. "Sort of. It's complicated, but I'll explain it to you later. Daniel wants to have a meeting now. Ragnar knows who took Noelle, and we need to come up with a game plan."
"How does he know?" Tyler asked in surprise.
"Ragnar has a very strong nose. He's able to pick up scents that no one else can. My nose is pretty good, but not like his," Charity explained as she gazed at him.
"Is that why you wanted me to show you Jenna's room?" Tyler asked.
"Yes. Now let's go downstairs before Daniel comes up here looking for us," Charity said, taking Tyler's hand.
"Who is Daniel to you?" Tyler asked as he followed her to the door of his room.
Charity stopped and turned back to him. "Daniel is my brother. He's also our leader. We have a lot of similarities to regular wolves. We also live in packs. Daniel is the leader of our pack; the Alpha."
"Guess I have a lot to learn." Tyler smiled at her. Knowing she was a werewolf made her all the more intriguing and he wanted to get to know her more.
She smiled back and turned to open his door.
Once downstairs, Tyler sat down on the loveseat next to Charity. He looked around the room taking everyone in with a whole new perspective. He noticed how built all the men were and how beautiful the women all were.
The large blond man that Charity had referred to as Ragnar began to speak. "Charity walked me through what happened, and I have explored this entire home. There were two different werewolves who were in your home." His glanced at Mitch. "They both used scent neutralizers to throw us off. We wolves have highly sensitive noses and are capable of identifying quite a bit just from someone's scent. We can tell if they are a werewolf or human. Each of us has a unique scent, and we can also tell if someone is a pack wolf or not and what rank they are.
While the wolves who invaded your home obviously used a scent neutralizer, they have no idea what I'm capable of, and while it is faint, I can still smell their scent. They're members of the Virginia pack, and no Charity, the Alpha was not one of them," Ragnar looked at her.
"Why that dirty rotten..." She cut herself off with a growl and clenched her fists. Tyler suddenly reached over and took her hand, unknowingly calming her down.
'Arrogant weasel does have a suicide wish,' Solara commented in her mind.
'I'd say. And we're going to grant it,' Charity responded. "Do we know when he left town?"
"The day after your dinner with him, both he and his warrior left," Caleb said quietly. "We need to figure out how they found out about Jenna and Noelle."
All eyes moved to Jenna. "These were the two that were with you and Charity when you came into the diner the other night?" she asked.
Daniel gave her a small smile and took her hand in his. "Yes, the two who were so rude to you. They were the reason I pretended not to know you, and I'm sorry for that, but now you understand why."
