I had to say, this was a downgrade from how Gilberts used to live. It was cute for sure, but hardly what a founding member's house should look like. I knocked on the door, twisting my ring as I waited.

What Elijah had said... I suppose I should be grateful. It was hard enough keeping the secret. The fact that Elijah could compel away slip ups was nice.

Was it wrong that I missed the days I was just a Mikaelson? They'd been quick to pass me off as a sibling that had just been in a box, that I wasn't as known because I was daggered like Finn.

Apparently the reception of Marcel wasn't as great, so they chose a different way to add me to the family.

No one asked why I clearly aged.

The door opened, and Elena's brow furrowed. "You're not Elijah."

"Isn't he dead?"

She leaned against her door, blocking my view of inside. "Why are you here?"

"Came to have a chat. I asked around, your house wasn't exactly hard to find."

Her brow furrowed. "A chat?"

"Are you going to invite me in?" She hesitated. Good. At least she wasn't stupid. "Scared?"

"I don't really know you."

"I could always show up at that high school of yours. Maybe that adorable Tyler Lockwood would appreciate me more. He was oh so helpful when I first arrived."

"What do you want?" She straightened.

"I already told you, dear. I'm sure you have loved ones I can find just as easily. Tell me, are they as protected by my brothers as well?"

Elena's expression hardened.

"Or, we can avoid all that nastiness by inviting me in. Believe me when I say I was taught well how to get what I wanted."

She tensed, gritting her teeth. "Morgan, you can come in."

"Smart girl." I folded my hands behind my back, stepping over the threshold. "Judging by the lack of heartbeats, I take it you're home alone?"

"Yes."

"And you were expecting Elijah, which means he's alive." Elena followed me as I moved deeper into the house, past the living room and into the kitchen. "Given the rumors, I'd wager you made a deal."

"Rumors?"

"He's an Original, Elena. Of course there are rumors about him."

She put the island between us. "I knew that already. I was asking what ones you were referring to. Stefan and Damon really only talk about Klaus."

"I'm going to let you in on a little secret."

"Okay..." Elena crossed her arms.

"Whatever Klaus wants, he's going to get. It's in the interest of everyone you love, including my dumbass of a brother, that you all accept that."

"It sounds like you know him better than you've claimed."

Perceptive. "The group I ran with? They were old and they knew people that knew the Originals. A friend of a friend type of situation."

She bit her lip. "What happens if Stefan and Damon don't accept this."

"They're dead."

"Then what would you have me do?"

"He'll leave your loved ones alone if you go to him willingly."

Elena's eyes narrowed. "Thought I was 'little miss suicidal' for wanting to give myself up?"

That was before I realized how inaccessible Kathrine is. "My brother is locked in a tomb with the very woman famous for trying to outrun Klaus. He's in more danger now than ever."

"Why does he want me?"

"Same reason any vampire or wolf would kill to have your blood." She was fishing for something, I just didn't know what.

"The sun and the moon curse."

"Bingo."

"You could call these people? Get them to contact Klaus?" Her guard was slipping. I could see it. Elena was desperate.

"I would."

There was something relieved in her eyes. "Kathrine told me what he wants to do to me, what he did to her for running. I haven't told Stefan and Damon yet, but this way is easier, I could just write everyone a letter."

So she knew. That was... interesting. "Oh? What did that two face bitch have to say?"

"He's going to sacrifice me, and it's not for the sun and the moon curse. Apparently it's not real, but he has a curse he carries."

I had to admit, she was ballsy enough to try and find Nik on her own, but this? Asking a random vampire to deliver her... "Alright. I'll see what I can do." Even if this messes with Elijah's plan, it furthers mine. He's not going to be very happy when he figures it out. "I want to hide you away. Something tells me Damon will meddle if he knows what we're doing."

She shifted her weight. "You get a positive answer from your friends and I'll do it."

"Done."
