Chapter 39: Crazy stupid love.

The next morning

You woke up at 7am at Chaeyoung's mother's house. Chaeyoung was sleeping by your side hugging you tightly even in your sleep. You smiled knowing damn well that you would miss this feeling since you've never been away from each other for so long.

Chaeyoung woke up at 7am as well and she felt so comfortable and happy by your side.

She couldn't stop thinking about what happened yesterday and how her mood changed once you told her about going away for 2 weeks. She still felt a lot of stress and anxiety but she wanted to be strong for you.

She moved gently not wanting to disturb you while hugging you even more. "Why are you awake, love?" She said with a sweet voice while looking at you.

You stayed quiet and rested your head on her chest while your arms were wrapped tightly around her. You didn't want to say anything just feel her, feel her warmth before leaving.

Chaeyoung smiled when you put your head on her chest and her arms were wrapped around you as well.

"I'll miss you so much, Y/N..." She whispered softly while moving her hand through your hair.

She still felt worried about the future but she didn't want to think about it at this moment. "Please... Let's enjoy this time together." She said quietly as she started to stroke your hair again.

At the airport

"The gate is open I have to go now." you said hugging her tightly in your arms not letting her go. You kissed her face again and again.

Chaeyoung was feeling a lot of emotions. "I won't see you for a while... It's hurting..." She said softly while hugging you.

She tried to be strong for you but it was hard for her. "Please don't worry. I want you to be happy there." She said with tears in her eyes wanting to support you and give you hope.

She looked at you with a sad smile while trying not to cry. "I'll see you again, I love you. Please, don't forget that." She said before kissing you softly on your lips.

"I won't forget that." you said stepping back and sowing a full bow at her as you took your suitcase and walked away along with Sana.

Chaeyoung felt like crying but she had to accept this. She couldn't do anything since this was your job.

She tried to stay strong and she didn't let her tears to fall while watching you leaving for the gate.

"Good luck..." She whispered softly as you walked away while her cheeks were still wet by tears. "Love you, Y/N." She said while looking at the gate and not wanting to turn her head to look at you. Once she couldn't see you anymore, she let the tears fall and started crying softly.

You boarded the plane and found your seat next to Sana. You took your seat and looked out the window at the sky. You couldn't help but be a little bit anxious about what this trip would bring. After all, you didn't have much information about what happened to David.

Sana took her seat next to you and took your hand. She was the perfect companion for your journey, and you knew that she would be there for you every step of the way. "I'm excited to be with you, Y/N." she whispered with a smile.

You took slowly your hand back and looked out of the window as the only thought in your mind was Chaeyoung and how fast you wanted this case to be done so you could already come back. "Did you inform the NYPD that we will visit the victim?" you asked changing completely the subject.

"Yes, I contacted our NYPD contacts to let them know that we are coming to see David Doe today." Sana said. She had everything organized and she was making sure that everything went smoothly when you arrived in New York.
