I'm Related to the Grier's?!

Chapter One

{I promise this book gets way better around the 2nd/3rd chapter. Sorry it sucks rn.😁}

Charlotte's POV
"Adam stop!" I say laughing.

"No way Char." He says continuing to tickling me.

Right now I was laying on the couch with my boyfriend Adam and he was trying to cheer me up.

After another minute of this torture he stops.

"So what time does your mom get home?" He asks.

I just shrug.

"She was supposed to come to my game tonight, but I guess she forgot." I say.

"Hey there'll be another lacrosse game." He says.

"Yeah I guess." I sigh.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks.

"I don't know. I just wish she wasn't working all the time." I say.

"Well she is a cop. She has to keep people safe." He says.

"Yeah so by helping those people she's forgetting about her own daughter." I say.

"Don't think of it like that." He says.

"That's easy for you to say. You have two parents that love you and an awesome sister. I'm that weird only child that only has a mom that's never around and a dad that left me when I was born." I say.

"Charlie-" he starts but gets cut off by my phone ringing.

"I don't know this number." I say looking at the caller ID.

"Answer it." He says.

C- "Hello?." I say answering the phone.

?- Hi is this Charlotte Grier?" Someone asks.

C- "Uhm yes. Who is this?" I ask.

?- "This is Officer Jacobs, I'm calling about your mother." He says.

?- "Okay, is everything alright?" I ask.

?- "Not exactly. Ms Grier where are you right now?" He asks.

C- "My house with my boyfriend." I say confused.

?- "I'm going to need you to come down to the station as soon as possible." He says.

C- "Uhm okay, I'll be there soon."
End of PhoneConvo.

"Who was that?" Adam asks.

"Some police officer, he needs me to come to the station. What if my mom got arrested?" I say with a slight laugh.

"I'm sure she didn't. But c'mon I'll drive you." He says picking me up off the couch and carrying me out to his car.

After a short five minute drive we were at the police station.

We walked in hand and hand and went to some front desk type thing.

"Hi I'm Charlie Grier, here to see Officer Jacobs, I think." I say.

"Oh hi sweetie, we've been expecting you. Go strignt back and it's the second door on the left." She says.

"Okay, thank you." I say and start walking back with Adam.

"Everything's going to be fine." He says reassuringly.

"I know." I say and we walk into the room.

"Hi, are you Officer Jacobs?" Adam asks.

"Yes I am, and you are?" he asks.

"I'm Charlie Grier, this is my boyfriend Adam." I say.
