New Beginnings

Chapter One

Well today is moving day. All of my stuff is packed and ready to go, but I'm not. I've already said bye to all my friends. They each gave me something to remember them. I was sitting on the floor scrolling down twitter on my iPhone 6.

"You ready?" my mom asked me as she walked in my room.

I sighed, "Yeah I guess so." I answered.

"Look, I know you like your life here but I promise you that you will love being in Kansas. At least you have family down there. And your favorite cousin, Bri, is there to show you around and introduce you to people. Truth me, you'll love being there."

Bri is not only my favorite cousin, but she is my best friend. We text each other everyday and talk in the phone every chance we get. She is always visiting me and we always tell each other everything. There is nothing we don't know about each other.

"Yeah, I guess you're right."

I watched as the movers put the last box in the truck with was mine. I walked to my moms car and got in on the passenger side. I got on my phone and went to twitter and posted:

@MayaLove: This is it. On my way to the airport. I'm sad to leave Cali but its for the better ig.

After I posted that I got on instagram and seen that I had gotten 43 likes on a picture i posted 5 minutes ago (A/N: picture in the media). I guess you could say that I'm popular, I just say that I'm likeable. I don't really like the word popular because I'm just like everybody else, no better, no worse.

A couple minutes later, my mom got in the car and started it. I noticed that the car wasn't moving so I looked up from my phone and she was staring at me.

"How did I get such a wonderful daughter?" she asked me.

"How did I get such a loving and caring mother?" I asked her.

She smile and turned to face the rode. She then put the car in drive and drove off. It didn't take long to get to the airport and get on the plane. As soon as we got seated I looked out the window and sighed. Kansas here I come.
