You watched in amazement as Hanni flawlessly played her ukulele for you.

She just bought a brand new ukulele but she's been playing the instrument for quite some time now.

You can't help but be amazed by how good she is and how flawless the instrument sounds as she plays it.

And what makes it even better is the smile that's on her face as she plays, genuinely enjoying every second of it.

When the song she was playing on it came to an end, you applauded her with a proud smile on your face.

"That was so good, baby! Great job!" You grinned before kissing her cheek.

"Thank you, my love. I love playing the ukulele and I'm proud to have bought this one. It's beautiful."

"That it is."

"Do you want to play it?" She asked as she held it out for you to take.

"Oh, I couldn't do that. I don't know how and I don't want to mess it up." You said with a nervous expression on your face.

"You won't, baby. Besides, you don't have to know how to play it. I can teach you." She smiled. "Come on, give it a try."

You felt nervous just thinking about it.

But seeing how much fun Hanni had playing it made you want to try it too.

So you gently and carefully took it out of her grip.

She placed your fingers where they needed to be, as well as your palm.

"Just be careful but have fun too! Go on, try it!" She encouraged.

You nervously strummed the strings and you were met with a surprisingly decent sound.

It wasn't perfect.

It was far from being as good as it sounded when Hanni played it.

But you're still learning so neither of you expected for it to sound flawless right from the start.

However, you did have a lot of fun playing it and soon, it started to sound better.

"There you go, baby! You're getting it!" She grinned. "I'm going to go get some water real quick, I'm thirsty. Keep playing though!"

You did as she said as she left the room and went into the kitchen.

You began to feel more confident and had so much fun playing it.

It was a pretty instrument and it sounded so beautiful when it was played right and even though you were far from perfect with it, it still didn't sound bad at all.

You got lost in playing it and then got lost in your own little world.

You took your palm off of the bridge of the ukulele, which was a terrible idea as it was extremely important to keep your palm on the bridge.

You were all smiles as you started to quietly sing your favorite song.

You got up and danced around the room a little, just being silly and having fun.

At this point, Hanni had left the kitchen after grabbing a bottle of water and she was now leaning against the doorway with a smile on her face as she watched you have fun.

But the fun was about to come to an end.

Because you'd left your shoes on the floor and as you danced around with your eyes closed and continued to play the instrument, you tripped.

You fell to the floor on your stomach.

But you didn't feel the pain of the fall as bad as you would've... if the ukulele hadn't broken your fall.

When you fell, you and Hanni both heard the sound.

It was an awful crunching sound; the sound of the wood cracking as you fell onto it.

The ukulele is a delicate instrument, many things can cause it to break.

But a fall like this and you landing on it the way you did was too much for the wood to handle.

You looked up at Hanni, who'd set her bottle of water on the table and was now hurrying over to you.

"You did not do what I think you just did." She said.

You slowly got up and she gasped upon seeing her now broken ukulele.

"Hanni, baby, I'm so sorry." You said as she sat down and collected the broken pieces. "I'm terribly sorry."

"You're sorry!?" She yelled. "How could you do this?"

"It was just an accident." You quietly said.

"I don't care! You still broke it. Now what am I going to do? I was going to play this at a show in a couple of days! Now it's ruined and it's all your fault!"

She was angry and frustrated.

You understood.

You'd feel the same in the heat of the moment if the shoe was on the other foot.

But it still hurt to hear her say those things to you and to hear her talk this way to you.

It hurt to hear her yell and to see her so angry and to know that it was all your fault.

"You're such a klutz! God, I can't trust you with anything! This was so important to me and now it's destroyed. Thank you so much!"

You couldn't help but sniffle as tears stung your eyes.

Seeing your girlfriend, the girl you love more than anything, yell at you and say such hurtful things made your heart shatter.

"I'm so sorry."

Hanni looked at you and her anger vanished when she saw you so hurt.

"I didn't mean to, I swear. I know how important it is to you. I would never break something so important to you on purpose. Please forgive me."

She sighed and opened her arms for you.

You got up and went over to her before sitting on her lap.

She wrapped you in her arms and rubbed your back comfortingly.

"I'll buy you a new one. I swear, I didn't mean to."

"Shh, I know. It's okay. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you or got so upset with you. That wasn't right."

You pulled away a little so you could look into her eyes.

She stared into your eyes and kissed your cheek softly.

"It's okay, baby. I know you didn't do it on purpose. I can get a new one. It's not a huge deal. It's okay, I forgive you."

She brushed her hand across your cheek gently and you leaned into her touch, making her smile a little.

"Everything's okay. I've got you. I'm not mad anymore."

"I love you." You said as you held each other tight.

"I love you too, baby, and I always will." She promised as she kissed your forehead, hoping you knew that she was sorry too.
